Shawn hicks is an ego maniac who thinks money can fix everything. He has a kid who wasn't even top on his single a team in Quinte west. Bought an entire ice rink so that his kid could skate during covid while others couldn't .

He also employed an ex NHL player in Newbury and convinces him to coach Kingston and of course since hicks is his boss will sign matt to a card
He realizes if he can bring a "super team " to Kingston they'll have to deal with his awful kid so that they can win. He brings a band of french stars and troubled children to Kingston . Of course because of his politics it blows up and kids quit the team before omha and it falls apart.
Having burnt that team to the ground he returns home.
He employs the PRESIDENT of Quinte red Devils as a coach with his jr a team, yes he even bought that so that he will turn a blind eye and give Newbury the Quinte team. He then uses his ice rink opening a bogus academy to house the French kids , bringing a kid from Sudbury another from Quebec and have addresses for a new team. Existing Quinte parents can see what's happening and the best ones who can get out do and go to kingston. Some get stuck in Quinte and have to hope thatvteam is better, it is skilled.
Meanwhile because he owns a rink his employee who also is the coach can use this as a cash cow and all the parents who don't have real skill development pay Kris money all summer long even though their kids were cut from Kingston and suddenly end up in roles they never gave had or deserve. The team has all the talent but is run by the puppet master. Hicks starts as top d pair academy students get extra ice it's all so textbook. Newbury cant coach the team properly so leaves for an ohl job. You would think now hicks loses his grip on the team, nope somehow another employee of his Dagenais now takes a PARENT COACHING POSITION on the bench and starts driving the famous world elite truck. He of course is parent of the top player so pushes his influence over new coach who had shown promise and now they will fall apart just like Kingston did last year
Good riddance Shawn and the French why don't you watch Kingston and how a real team is coached and built.

That’s one unhappy QRD parent. Must be someone who is not playing much can be narrowed down to 4 fwds and 2 d.
