Usually outlaw leagues are full of house league kids - can’t crack AA or aGuest wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 8:06 am Anyone know about the Outlaw Leagues?
Any advantage playing in this league versus Alliance?
2009 Alliance

Did not know anyone who played in that league and was not sure what level it was.
Thanks

Honestly, in an overall sense - most of those teams are worse than MD. It is just filled with some kids who's parents think they are above MD so they go and play in these leagues and tout them as A/AA, but in reality... they are crap.Guest wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 12:55 pm Did not know anyone who played in that league and was not sure what level it was.

Re: 2009 Alliance
Seeing as the teams are all made - are you tired of it or your kid didn’t make it?
Re: 2009 Alliance
Can you play AA a year up?Guest wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 4:38 pm Kid made it but tired of the Alliance .
Spend your money on development and then use spring to make up for lost games?
Re: 2009 Alliance
Not entirely true. Some perhaps. We did a 1 and done at ORHL and the coaching and development was far superior than any A centre we've been involved in the past. Many kids were there for different reasons, centre re-alignments and amalgamations, not enough players in small centres to form a rep team, can't cross from OMHA A to Alliance A, or you wait for a REP team tryout in the fall and A already done in the spring (now fixed). Other reasons were people who didn't agree with coaches or minor hockey boards, some there because of no body checking, others there because they've always been there, and the odd few who think they're better than they really are. If they could really get themselves organized better, they might be able to make a dent against HC but don't think they will. Either way, no regrets for a year, our team was a positive experience.

Oh and I would say that the average skill level ranges from HL players to a few kids AA, some teams out of the GTA area did have some AAA players, but they dominated. I would say overall the level is Rep to A. But they don't always turn all the kids away either.Guest wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 12:05 pmNot entirely true. Some perhaps.
