Guest wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2024 9:24 am Enough about the season that was. Let's look forward to the Eagles and FH. I can't see FH putting up much of a fight.

What are we hearing about next season?
- I've heard Avs made a ton of changes
- Rangers losing 80% of the team, again
- Panthers trying to scrape together enough suckers
- Attack, like Avs making a lot of changes, but this is due to a large number going AA and not coach inflicted
- Sharks - handful of cuts
- Lightning - 3-4 changes max, nothing drastic
I heard the Sharks will have 7 replacements, how do they get better?
If the Sharks couldn't finish 1st nor win more than 1 playoff round with the players they added this season then they might be hopeless.
Could it be possible that the sharks will be worse next year? Those coaches want to really really win something
The 2010 A West division (other than the Eagles) will be a mixed bag next year. The Avs may actually finish second next year only because every other team is essentially going through a rebuild. The Attack are being replaced by a George Bell Titan team coming from the Mississauga A loop . The Sharks will have a number of changes (kids moving on to other teams and some simply dropping out of the sport). The Lightning (having started to build an improving culture this season) will take a step back with the former AA coach stepping behind the bench (his record as a AA coach says it all unfortunately). The Rangers and Panthers could improve but only because a number of teams will come down to their level. Eagles will blow every one out of the water next year though.

Lightning will not take a step back, I'd put them second next season. They'll be much stronger than what you're thinking, lots of strong additions and I think will surprise with some of the adds they have made.

Well the players better be stronger because the coaching won’t be.

You sound like he cut your kid. Anyway, yes they've made big upgrades. I was surprised. They'll be a good team next year. Very early prediction and basically guess;

1. Eagles
2. Lightning
3. Sharks
4. Avs
5. Attack
6. Rangers
7. Panthers

not at all ... here's the record of the AA team over the last three seasons ...

5-22-1 (two seasons ago)
4-24-4 (last season)
2-26-6 (this season)

here's the thing ... great that people want to volunteer to step behind the bench ... we should applaud all that do ... thankless hours etc. I've done it. But sometimes best to step away and let someone else take the reins if there isn't any development happening and it's obvious from the record that there hasn't been. Will that change in A for next season... guess we will see.

nope ... not at all ... kid has never played there. But over time you see a pattern and we are all part of one big hockey 'family' and we all have different experiences and hear of different experiences.

Ok weird take them to single out one guy, did you not get his coaching position? Anyway, it's not AA it's A. Looks like they'll be more than fine with the players they're adding.

And that right there is why things won't change in the GTHL or youth hockey for that matter. Who cares ... it's only A hockey. It's great that people steep up and volunteer to coach. But shouldn't there be some review by the organizations after the season or a number of seasons. Guess not ... nothing to see here folks ... move along.
