FH same as always?

Willlowdale will battle GP for last it seems. Shame, they had some solid talent.
FH looked good, there were chances for both teams...we'll see what happens in the semi's when they play a top tier opponent.

George Bell v Applewood, both teams were awful, they should be in select and not in a "A" tourney. Seems like teams are punished for playing sronger opponents in this tourney. If you get a gift of weak team, it will no doubt help your tiebreaker.

George Bell is basically a select team, that team moved up from select. Applewood is more than a decent team and could move through, helped by a couple of easy match ups. They are a good team.

From the rumour mill I’ve heard about WB, there was some toxicity in that room (a player or two and a coach or ex coach) theyve gone to TR. now if the coach at TR (great guy) can keep them in check they’ll be much improved. As for WB this year, I think the talent gap is just too large. They’ll struggle till a few of these kids mature and start to really play, which can happen, their still only 14
What I heard is that Wdale coach decided to take his kid to NT at the 11th hour.

Assistant coach then took his kid to TRT and brought the Wdale's top fwd along as well as an external player who tried out for the team. All at tryouts. How this is not tampering is beyond me. It's bad for the league and bad for the team.

Pre season or not some of these teams should be at the select level. Delusional parents is why teams like GPR, willowdale and north York have teams. As well as TR AA

Wow! So who’s coaching this team?

You’re delusional if you think that these kids all left at tryouts.
I told the Willowdale kid to take a hike when he demanded to come with a package deal with 2 other kids, seems like TRT obliged. The Willowdale HC coach is still the same, it was their Manager or AC who was shopping around well before tryouts.

Parents are looking in Jan/Feb for new teams. Tryouts mean nothing but a few skates before summer.

That's a bit short sighted. Wdale had a competitive mid pack team until last year. 3 players moved to AA in the preceding seasons and the coaching staff chose not to make cuts and recruit. And here we are. That's not on the parents.

HC was HC in name only. But yes this was all pre wired before tryouts. Of course parents weren't informed.

It's not on the parents, this is the lowest level of rep hockey. If it was AA I'd agree with you. Teams struggle for a variety of reasons, some have decent coaching but can't recruit. Some have bad coaching and everyone want out. Some orgs field teams when they know they shouldn't. But it's not on parents at A level hockey.
