Unbiased opinion here, not connected with either team my eldest was playing the game after. I watched most of this. Toros looked to control the play, thought they were unlucky with a couple calls. Toros had long stretches of control in the OZ, Caps looked to dump and chase with not many shots on goal.
Long 2 man advantage for Caps resulted in 2 goals. Toros goalie probably wanted back 2 goals I saw. That combined with I was told this was the Toros first game, and it sure looked it like in the 3rd, meant Caps 4-3 win.
Toros look the better more skilled team, but are simply not close to ready. Caps looked the team that has done sutff over the summer. Caps didn't waste opportunities, and outlasted Toros. Play this game in a month and I can't see the score being the same.
Toros got robbed this game as they were the more offensive team. Shot count was 24:7. If it wasn't for some weak penalties we would have been 1:0 game as most of the caps scoring power was when Toros were short handed. Some advice for other teams playing the caps is to skate them end to end and get a line change on your cycle and unload on your cycle back into offensive zone. There is poor bench management ending up stretching the shifts. They cant chase back and your guaranteed a clear shot on net.
How come Toros couldnt score on a very long 5 on 3 in the 3rd??
Toros had more power play opportunities than the Caps. Including an almost 2 min 5 on 3 in the 3rd. They did nothing but regroup in their end. The 3 FT scored were on the pp as well.
Haters gonna hate.
Two mediocre teams, who cares. 7 shots?!? LOL FG that ain't gonna fly. Toros goalie must have been crap, no?
VR going to win silverstick anyway.
More mediocre teams than top teams so technically more people will care. Put that in your pipe.
All all mediocre- it’s AA hockey
It’s VR, eagles and everyone else

Come on. The eagles tied 3 against low level OMHA teams last week. True contenders.
It's an early bird tournament season and some of you muppets are drawing conclusions from the results of these games.
It's shocking that people with such low levels of common sense and intelligence can hold down jobs that allow them to afford to put their kids in a sport as expensive as Rep hockey.
