What you’re asking for is a perfectly reasonable aspiration. No team with a roster opening is looking to downgrade.
That said, you are flat out delusional if you think parents of top players are going identify themselves to some anonymous coach. Who’s to say you’re not the coach of the team they’ve already committed to?
You probably lost a good player you thought you had. Tryouts are over. Sucks to be you. Take your medicine and fill the spot with whoever is still calling you. Or run with 14 skaters. Better luck next year.

1) You assumed incorrectly - that's ok
2) I don't want someone reaching out if they are committed elsewhere (I don't like this sort of behaviour, frankly, and when I see it I run). And, most players are registered already so they can't just turn their back on their commitment now.
3) I realize chances are low of success on here but should I not at least try? Why would I not? Yes chances are low, but perhaps there is a displaced AAA player that is looking who is not committed anywhere. Not likely, but possible so I may as well try.
3) I already have 15 skaters - I am looking for a 16th as I anticipate a lot more injuries this year with body checking. I am perfectly happy not to pick up anyone if it comes down to it. If there is a good player that makes us better then great. If not, that's fine.

Actually, players have popped up over the summer in the past. I have posted a message for Johnny to #glassbreatherparentsrule.
