Frankly, the one off skates are all over priced. Most get ice at a decent cost and it is 50-100 dollar per kid.

Some kids have been hitting for 7 years in other sports, no big deal for them!
Sure, but Not at a high speed as in hockey, big difference.
But more vicious than hockey hits!

If your coaching is telling you he’s running a hitting clinic or hitting practice….please do your son a favour, run, run and run.
I heard a bunch of clown parents talking about their kids going to hitting clinics. Honestly, I have never seen a more illiterate sport parent group than the 2011’s. It is like they were all HL players in their time! You could make a killing giving actual consulting in this group, but then again they all think they have it figured out….. good luck clowns!

All these ‘hockey school’ individual instructor crap became popular during Covid and now it is the norm. The costs should be way more reasonable.

Are you saying it’s stupid to send your kid to a hitting camp in order to prepare them for hitting?

Buddy there are some small basic things you need to know about hitting and taking a hit. The technical part can be taught in 30 minutes.

However, reading the play and the IQ required to really hit some one or miss being hit cannot be taught in a clinic, it is very in game specific. Your kid will need to learn the IQ of hitting and if he has low hockey IQ don’t hold your breath.
My guy is only 110 pounds right now, but do to timing and readying the play he is laying kids out twice his size!

It is not about being smart , it is about experience at a high level, which it sounds like you have zero, kinda like your wife’s Diet Coke (not working)!
