No one is questioning the kids skills. But the trend of quitting on his teams which is clearly more an issue from a parenting perspective is the problem. That being said, we don’t know the full story of the pressure put on him and if who knows he may just not want to play any more. Pressure on these young stars builds up and some can handle it but some can’t.
It’s not pressure these young talented kids feel, if anything they thrive in high competition and big moments. The problem is a lot of these drone coaches suck the FUN and creativity right out of the game for them. Instead of bringing out the best in the players, they start feeling they need to correct everything and try and fast track them playing like ‘NHL’ players instead of guiding their natural development. I’ve watched this kid and he is magic. I would pay to watch him play and if it is true that he doesn’t want to play anymore, that would be very sad for the sport. Hockey Canada needs to do a better job to attract and retain top talent and it starts by getting rid of these dumb robotic coaches who are only interested in wining or in it for their kid, who probably shouldn’t even be on the team.
He is magical. A really fun kid to watch play the game we all love so much. He's endured a ton of hatred and jealousy over his short hockey journey. Mostly the hate is from other parents. I heard it was especially bad in London, but I wouldn't doubt the same happened in Halton. Everyone seems so quick to jump to conclusions by saying there is a "trend of quitting on his teams" without knowing all the facts. Maybe, just maybe, the team quit on him, or should I say, the other hate-filled, jealous parents, by being so toxic and poisoning teammates; the kid never stood a chance. We all know about the London coach and what happened last season. Perhaps it was not the young 11 year old kid who was to blame for that fiasco. There are always two sides to a story.
Just stop it dad.
Why should anyone stop? Maybe because you want to continue clinging to your misguided narrative? Why should a kid or his dad keep him in a situation that isn't quite right for him/them? Most of these teams will cut a kid loose the very moment someone better comes along but all you high and mighty jerk offs act as though these kids owe some sort of loyalty to the teams? Give me a break. These teams continually sell one thing and then deliver another, usually folding to the demands of a select few. Its ridiculous, and it happens everywhere.. The G, Alliance, OMHA, everywhere. Ive known of this family for a while, and if BL is reading this, keep doing what's best for the kid and find the right spot. Who cares what these people say because one day, when the kid is doing great things, they're all gonna talk about how "their kid played on his line"

I agree , my son played with him for 2 seasons of spring hockey , he’s a nice kid , parents are nice , and the kid listens well and works hard . We were a better team with him on it - funny how he wasn’t “jumping ship” then , it’s because the coach treated him well , same with the kids amd the other parents - I think it’s absolutely pathetic that grown ass men get all excited bashing and gosling about small children ..
Another set of completely delusional parents. The kid was never “magical” and hasn’t been dominant in a long time. It’s clearly the jackass dad making remarks on here. Enjoy the iPhone videos of your kid scoring goals in u10 buddy it’s all u got left.
And it was over in London when the dad freaked about ice time and threatened the coach physically. Anyone would have cut his ass.
[/quote]

This is a total lie! What happened in London was all the fault of the coach and his band of brothers. BL never threatened the coach physically. He never freaked about ice time. What he did was ask why are all the clique kids who have no clue how to play hockey getting the majority of minutes. NL was their best player by a mile and was the reason that team won so many games. Look at LJK this season. Losing record. Just went 1 and 3 at Silverstick. The team desperately needs a new coach and new players.

Moral of the story dads stay out of your kids minor hockey they are not mercenaries for hire. And don’t expect more ice and special treatment just because they are good. Total failure on families part.

Lol, HH had easy draw of playing 24, 25, 26th ranked teams in Ontario and pat themselves on the back. Hmmm, STA beat PPE last game they played, what’s wrong DJ and BR can’t play against the top teams. HH, the writing is on the wall, you will fall further than LJK unless you get rid of these drone parent coaches and their kids who shouldn’t be on the team!

Sounds like the system is flawed because that’s exactly how it works. The rumor is, that DJ actively recruited NL from LJK with as much ice time as he wanted, team fees paid for, and finding house for him, in return he obviously wanted the kid to win for him. Looks like the kid delivered beating top teams and winning the Peterborough Tournament. The only explanation on the kid leaving this team with such a winning record is jealousy and obviously this coach caving in to his complaining buddies, so he turned on the kid to save face. The only failure I see is Hockey Canada's corruption goes deep allowing these dumb coaches and their buddies to have control and the parents accepting these mercenary deals.
Who cares?

Honestly…. 1) teams don’t make their schedules, and I highly doubt anyone is out here “patting themselves on the back”
2) LMFAO who cares where an 11 year old hockey team is ranked? if this fuels any part of who you are, then you're an absolute waste of skin, are delusional and need help. 3) kids who are not good teammates, regardless of the talent level, have no place on a team. If your little Johnny is a suitcase and nobody ever wants him back, go to Walmart…buy a mirror and give it a really long look because you’re robbing little Johnny of everything he deserves to get from team sports and you’re setting him for a lifetime of failures. 4) if you’ve got questions, make a phone call instead of posting like a Not allowed in a forum.

   Touch a nerve     Ahh yes, the incredible wisdom of a jealous parent. Funny how people like you are teaching your kids that it's ok to bash a specific kid (calling out kid that he is not a good teammate) in reality it's your poor jealous parent modelling that you impart on your kid that poison team sports

The only person that is delusional is BR thinking his underage CR being top 3 on the team. Let’s take a closer look on HH website that clearly shows he must be:

https://haltonhurricanes.ca/Teams/1114/ ... pionship_/

Peterborough Tournament Scoring after 6 games:
NL (14 goals, 11 assists)
JD (3 goals, 7 assists)
PS (7 goals, 3 assists)
HC (3 goals, 5 assists)
LK (3 goals, 3 assists)
CC (1 goal, 5 assists)
AT (1 goal, 4 assists)
CM (1 goal, 3 assists)
TH (3 assists)
JJ (3 assists)
AK (1 goal, 2 assists)
RP (1 goal, 1 assist)
CR (1 goal, 1 assist)

Hey BR, not sure your teaching degree explains top from bottom - start saving for that college fund, genetics are definitely not on his side. At least CR is decent player for his age group, unfortunately, can't say the same for DJs:

So you can only provide an example from one weak tournament when CR had the flu?
You’re pathetic. We knew he got it from somewhere!
