Yup. Very good showing by ARD. SIR was in a brutal tourney that weekend so the early morning league game on the Sunday they were flat. In fact, they have been playing short staffed most of the season with this Bug going around. No excuse as other teams could be facing the same challenges. They faced each other again last night. 3-3 tie. SIR would score, Ducks would respond, repeat. Ducks got their 3rd with about a minute and a half left on a somewhat controversial non-offside call.

Such is life in Minor Hockey. Glad to see the competition level getting better. Should make for an awesome season of exciting games.

NYK, MI and LF clearly the cream of the crop.

No. Have you seen them play???

AR has just 1, maybe 2 consistent playmakers. Mostly poor skaters and for a good portion of their wins they just barely eked out a victory. One dimensional coaching and they don't seem to get any better.

Blowouts 7-0, 7-1, 6-0 against NYK and LF and they recently lost from TR which is a bottom team. AR is mid pack at best.

Which team would you say has the strongest goaltending?

1-2 strong playmakers and a goalie is a good recipe for success in single A!

AR is not a top 3 team, by record maybe, but their goaltending is the only thing keeping them in games.

MI clearly the cream of the crop, their playmaking ability is at a AA level and their D seem impossible to crack

NYK 2nd best team and only team that has potential at taking down MI

Other than that I see the rest all about equal

Last I checked, "by record" is how we measure who the top teams are. :ugeek:

And yes, if we took the AR goalie and the 1-2 top players and put them on any other team, even YM, that team would become a lot better.

Markham has 3 loses - 1 each to NYK, LF and AR. So any of those teams could take MI down in a 1 game playoff.

NYK definitely a team on the rise - 2nd best winning percentage. Big turnaround from last year.

Strong goaltending? AR has a GAA of 2.74, MI = 1.62, LF = 1.84.

NYK's GAA is 2.04 but their GAA is #1 at 4.05 with MI at 3.19 and LF and AR at 3.

AR has played 23 games, LF and NYK played 19. They'll easily bump AR from their #2 points ranking. Based on GAA and GFA trend, AR is going to end up #4 or #5 in points at the end of the season.

MI had a strong start but also won a few games they shouldn't have. I predict MI will remain in the top spot, but NYK is the better team. They'll end up #2 with LF at #3.
