Wow, the jealousy is off the charts. It will be ok, let your kid enjoy single A a little longer. He might even be bigger than you by the start of house league next year

Look, people keep asking me about hockey today, especially with how different it is compared to when I played back in the '80s. I'm not saying we should go back to how things were, but this woke culture is getting way out of hand. You chirp someone now, and you’re facing a 10 game suspension? You give a warning, and that’s it, game over. I’m all for inclusivity and some of the changes they’ve made, but it feels like it’s gone too far. It’s like they’re trying to run the game like Justin Trudeau’s running the country, too soft and too many rules. We need balance, not this over the top, overly sensitive approach. We are not doing the kids any favours with this.

Yeah, I’ve been around the game for years—played it all: Single A, AA, AAA, OHL. Then I got injured, and that was pretty much it for me. Now, I’ve got my sons in it, but honestly, it’s a whole different world. The talent’s watered down, and the organization? It’s a joke. They’ve got these kids so soft, it’s like they’re all auditioning for a role in a drama class. You can’t even raise your voice as a coach without getting a call from Mommy and Daddy asking, "Why’d you make Johnny cry?" Sometimes it feels less like hockey and more like Hugging 101.
