There are two powerhouse teams in the US - CT and to a lesser extent MN. In a country of 300M people. If you consolidated all of our best talent in Ontario/Quebec - let alone all of Canada - to two teams, they would look pretty great as well.

You take the politics out of it and you could take the best kids from Ontario and create 2 teams that would be stronger then ct. the reality is money, politics, douche bags ruin it (va, ps, ak) and diluted spring teams.

Lay blame and excuses where you want. At the end of the day the onus falls on the egos of the parents. If you were around the rink this weekend you'll notice all the CT and MN kids and parents are humble, get along and not critical of one another. Your kids are a reflection of you at the end of the day. GTHL, OMHA and Alliance kids will never compare to the top US programs because PARENTS ruin it here.

This exactly. Talked to a bunch of those parents and none of them talked about their own kid. Always about the team and staying together and building together.

In Ontario it’s a bunch of nut jobs chasing trophies for their kids. How many Ontario kids are on to their third team this coming year. That’s the biggest problem.

These guys also play a team game and the parents sit and watch. CJR were 0-0 going into the second and not one parent screaming at their kid to do something. And when it was 5-0 in the 3rd not one kid dangling around trying to get his. Always playing a team game.

Could a powerhouse team from Ontario beat them - surely they could if they played together all year and kept egos out of it. But no Brick teams have beaten them so probably speaks to the fact that the Brick isn’t the cream of the crop from top to bottom and again a bunch of dads running around trying to impress each other

Why didn’t Everest play in the CCHA tournament? I thought they were Elite?

Draft Day tournaments are a joke.

Ha ha. Terrible hockey all tournament. Everest barely won.
Rebels looked quite average but I don’t think all their studs were there.

Really surprised Everest didn’t put that super team in the CCHA tournament lol. Congratulations on the trophy.

Are you sure? Based on the Everest social media they played somewhere in an Elite division?

A lot easier to win when you aren’t playing against the big dogs
