2012 GTHL EAST AA
Re: 2012 GTHL EAST AA
In terms of what team has a strong development program paired with great coaching, look to TR, NT or EE.
Re: 2012 GTHL EAST AA
Haven't seen any players that look like they could jump up to the AAA level. Exception being a few goalies. Will teams basically stay the same next year?
Re: 2012 GTHL EAST AA
The is only one goalie remotely close to making the jump, but it will be to a bottom team and he will get lit up like a Christmas tree.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 8:51 am Haven't seen any players that look like they could jump up to the AAA level. Best development program with a clear path to AAA is SIR.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 10:35 pm In terms of what team has a strong development program paired with great coaching, look to TR, NT or EE.
They lost 4 players to AAA last season and still are top 4
Re: 2012 GTHL EAST AA
Haven’t seen any goalie close. I know there are some teams at AAA looking to bring in a back up 20-30% of games. So maybe that’s the entry pointGuest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 8:47 amThe is only one goalie remotely close to making the jump, but it will be to a bottom team and he will get lit up like a Christmas tree.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 8:51 am Haven't seen any players that look like they could jump up to the AAA level. Re: 2012 GTHL EAST AA
Difference between the better 2012 AAA goalies and the 2012 AA goalies is really quite huge. Almost better off staying in AA and playing 60%-70% of the games instead of moving up and not getting to play. Maybe Reps, Titans, Majors will have 50/50 opportunities available. None of the other teams will have anything close to 50/50Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 9:07 amHaven’t seen any goalie close. Goalie parents are way to crazy. They have no idea what’s best for their development. Look at the reps and titans all four of their goalies are very bad, reps goalie was one of the top goalies in AA. Titans goalies both played AAA and there is no way they stay AAA. Goalie playing most of the games in AA is way better than only playing topGuest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 1:40 pmDifference between the better 2012 AAA goalies and the 2012 AA goalies is really quite huge. Teams in AAA for losses.
Re: 2012 GTHL EAST AA
Broad generalization. If your goal is to move to AAA because you think your kid can do well there go find a spot and if you have to take 20%-40% of the starts on a crap team go do it. If your kid holds up well then maybe you get to a 50-50 split the season after on that crap team and then maybe get a jump to a mid-pack team after that. This is all slow incremental steps, but ultimately the best kids will separate themselves from the rest over the next 2-3 years. The 3-5 best goalies in AAA right now may not be the best in 2-3 years (maybe they will). In response to the point above - the better goalie on Titans and Reps are both pretty good in bad situations. If you put them on better teams they would look a lot better.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 9:09 amGoalie parents are way to crazy. They have no idea what’s best for their development. Re: 2012 GTHL EAST AA
If I’m a AAA coach, I want a goalie who is better, not one that looks better because they are surrounded by better players. I agree that the Reps and Titans goalies would look better on better teams. But a better goalie would make the Titans and the Reps look better and that is way more important. The pressure put on goalies is huge. If your goalie isn’t ready then leave them where they play best.
