On the other hand. Who will be the bottom teams?
The usual suspects.

DMM
EE
NYK
FH
DMM no more
Heard NYK will be a better team
😂. That guy's idea of "development" of 11 y/o is to cut 3/4 of the team he hand picked last year and replace them with other kids. Not to mention giving some kids spots then reneging at the 11th hour. He's burning bridges left, right and centre in the 2012 loop. Appears he can't be trusted! Buyer be ware....YOU could be next!
Ok there NYK parent cut. 😂
So what if the OP is a parent cut, maybe he is, maybe he isn’t. At least he has something constructive to add to this thread instead of just being patronizing. His comment isn’t the first calling out the NYK coaches’ lack of commitment to their players, among other complaints. I’d rather hear feedback from parents who have experienced or witnessed the more unsavoury sides of the coaching staff than from those parents who have the wool pulled over their eyes.
Cry about it! 🥲

The NYK's coaches are young eager beavers who are trying to make a bad team better. They improved over last year even after their team quit in the final stretch. The parent cuts and the player cuts is to improve the team. People want to be successful. Coaches want to do a good job building a team then coaching it. If you aren't a part of the plan don't cry about it. I am not on NYK's or would I consider them. But I able fine with what they are doing. enjoy 6th place

Turning a disaster of a program around in U10 & U11 making them a competitive team is a lack of coaching commitment?

Has anyone looked at the scores of the U11 knights compared to the U12 knights?

Anyone with any clarity sees what’s going on there. If they add players like you’ve all claimed they had in this thread and continue to develop the group. Teams should all beware. Look at Markhams progression since U10 .. Knights are on the same path. A more competitive GTHL AA East is what everyone wants for our kids development. Good for them.

This team was a basement dweller until those ambitious unexperienced coaches who don’t develop as you all claim showed up. East Enders and Don Mills had the same amount of time to turn things around. Don Mills is not in the A loop and East Enders .. who knows.

Very true. The division will be better if low and mid pack teams become more competitive.

I think the point being made was that they cut 75% of the team when they took over this past season and did the same thing at the end of this season when their team didn’t perform the way they expected. If they cared about development more than winning they wouldn’t have cut most of the team again. Seems to be the common denominator with young coaches.

On the other side some teams don’t make changes therefore the core can’t develop and become more competitive.
A balance has to be struck in the middle. Cut a few , replace with stronger and so on. Coaches that don’t make changes or cut 75 percent of a team are not looking at true development.

If a 2 win team the year before had expectations than that’s just laughable. Come on loooool. Let’s call it spade of spade no one wanted to bring their child to a basement dweller program unless you had no choice but to go there to play AA. They didn’t have the best players to choose from.. most of which according to this thread of arm chair GMs are kids who played at the wrong level & they were still able to keep games close vs all of our kids teams this season. They made changes according to the people on this thread as well.... good for them. Let’s see how they do next season. Unlikely they are competitive. Although wouldn’t surprise me if more parents go knocking if championship seasons don’t go as planned. Those young coaches we all tear apart consistently are clearly doing something right.

Agreed. I don't get all the hate for NYK coaches. They are here to win and in year 2 of their program, they had to cut the kids who didn't develop. Every year is different and its getting more and more competitive to make a AA team. no skin in the game but I am glad they were able to attract some mid tier talent over there.

Don’t think a lot of kids can/ are making the jump. A few for sure but not top teams.
