Was the NYK AA team supposed to be the NT AA team?Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 1:54 pmThey were not granted a release by NT. They tried to form a team with another org and were denied a release, they knew they had to sit out a year. The kids can go where they want but the coaches are locked down for a year if they don't get a release. NYK then came up with a 'loophole' to try to get around the GTHL rules, it didn't work.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 12:07 pmI'm going to guess that were not granted a release. There is a year or two gap needed for coaches to prevent them from jumping teams and taking players with themGuest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 11:52 amWhy didn’t they just ask for their release?Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 11:42 amDon't blame the GGuest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 10:11 am One or two of the coaches didn't receive their release from their previous organization.
Gthl thought it would be reasonable to punish the kids.
Gthl - always putting kids first.
The coaches knew the rules, they broke them
Shame the kids got caught in the middle but really not a big deal, they get to play some extra games as part of the play in. Not like they lost the league winners trophy.
This was done solely by someone in the NT organization and has nothing to do with the NT AA coaches or team.
NTHA wanted this group to form an A team, but clearly they are now at least a mid level AA team so it's a little unfortunate the organization would go after them when it's clearly best for the kids to have formed their own AA team.
