Why do you care? The SIR kids hopefully are having fun and learning. The SIR parents hopefully are good with their decision to play for that team. Sure some of the kids are A level but sometimes playing against better players helps kids make their game better.

If you are the same person harping again and again about this stupid crap you are just being a bully this point. You are just trying to make yourself feel good by saying repeatedly that SIR are bad... Pretty sad of you of you to need to put down 10 year olds to feel better. Nobody cares.

Kids like playing SIR as they get to have a game to make some fun plays. Coaches of good teams should be working on some things with their team when they play them so the game isn't a waste. They actually aren't that bad defensive they just have problems scoring.

There always has to be a bottom team in a league. It really isn't a big deal and happens at all levels of hockey especially in the younger ages.

Move on.
SIR defense is horrible, I've seen two games and your defense is small, weak, and half the kids can't skate backwards. Obviously a D parent on SIR. Coaches need to fix the D & C.
I wrote it and no I not on SIR. I just know bullying when I see it. Every third post is about SIR on here. It would feel pretty crappy being a parent on SIR reading this thread.
A team plays them 3 or 4 times in a season, no big deal, move on as the topic has been beaten to death. SIR had a pretty good game against SYB and will probably have a good game against the Aeros, they are fine. In the coming years there will be way more competition for AA spots and they will close the gap. Although SIR does seem to be struggling at all age group, kind of surprising given how big their house league is.
NT dad here. Our kids played SIR yesterday and while the score was lopsided, I did note that the SIR kids did have some chances and I think in a season or two the gap will close. Hats off to them for continuing to play and enjoy the game.

I love this. Thanks for bringing this to the site. Better than some toolbox punching down continuously against the worst team in the league. I have noticed that in general, every team playing hard almost every game. Fewer dirty teams. Kids learning a lot and the point spread is shrinking. Winning is hard. Keep battling. I have been happy to see GTHL East teams cheering for each other at tournaments.

You're a good guy. But even a really bad team can get a few chances. But let's be honest here, they should be in A.

Im sure you are still counting the points your kid gets against SIR when you are calling AAA coaches telling them junior is ready for the next level

I've watched all the East teams play this season and the discrepancy in skill is not that bad, except for the AA SIR. They would have trouble against the top A team the East & West. The game they played against us they had like 2 shots, its just not fun for our kids.

I’ve got a rep in the GTHL, former player, former coach, former GM, and yeah, president of the Austin Matthews fan club. I know all the big names in the league, have mad connections, and a bunch of my people are plugged into MSLE. Let’s just say when it comes to finding a spot for my kid, we’re good. It’s already locked down.

But here's the thing that's got me thinking: why do these average parents of average players act like they’re entitled to all the ice time? Like, you think you can just roll up, make demands, and get whatever you want? Nah, doesn’t work that way.

EE coach is an embarrassment to minor hockey. Yelling at other teams kids. When they win it's more for him than it is for the kids. Great players, very talented but he's the worst person in the league. Gets a penelty cries to the ref, wins a game screams at the other bench. Should be removed

Have you seen Markham coach rip his own players? I don't know why the parents let their kids play for that guy.

Not arguing the points above but by all accounts EE coach very positive and kind to his own players. Very fair. They play skilled, clean hockey. Has built a very skilled team that plays hard and gets consistent results. It seems like a very good program.

For me, hockey is instinctual, sure,
it’s all I've ever known but I’m out here trying to inspire everyone. I see so many people getting negative, tearing each other down, and that’s not the vibe. Here’s the deal: hard work beats everything. You don’t need to be a gym rat like me or have a build like Jim Head (although I’m in the gym nonstop). Just give 50% more effort than you are right now. That’s it.
If you’re a kid reading this, keep grinding, and trust me, you’ll be skating into those Stanley Cup playoffs someday. And to the parents out there? Keep cheering your kids on. Your support is everything. So get out there, put in the work, and let’s make it happen!

Does anyone have experience with No names Fillo and Pro Hockey Development? He has asked my son to join a 2014 AA Team for the Carnevale League this upcoming Spring/Summer 2025 and I don't know him or the organization.
