Not sure if you noticed but MNS put that same team away 5-0 and easily could have been 8 or 10.Guest wrote: ↑Fri May 09, 2025 5:38 pm 1. It’s spring
2. They did beat them the first game
3. the game they lost could have gone either way.
4. That 2016 was a collection of AAA kids from different teams which usually makes for a better cast than a “regular team”
Bottom end OMHA AAA vs FT would be a good show.
2015 AA

And WML lost to them today by the same score as FT. It’s a good 2016 team.Guest wrote: ↑Fri May 09, 2025 6:40 pmNot sure if you noticed but MNS put that same team away 5-0 and easily could have been 8 or 10.Guest wrote: ↑Fri May 09, 2025 5:38 pm 1. It’s spring

Re: 2015 AA
Spring is ok if it’s your regular season team and you’re using it with practices for the kids to gel so you’re not starting from scratch in the fall. Those teams tend to do better because theres at least a core group who know how to play together. These Everest, vision ect teams are just a cash grab usually sold as an in with some AAA coach who might see your Gretzky and discover him. Enough of that and you end up on some team just by spreading you moneyGuest wrote: ↑Fri May 09, 2025 5:52 pm Is it just me, I have a U8 into 25/26 but is spring a deranged / expensive / glorified men’s league, I smell $$ but we are the ones getting pitched!
My son is multi sport, so not liking what I’m seeing w this spring hockey…
Re: 2015 AA
No sorry thats not possible FT is hell on wheels no way is anyone getting the same or better results as them, nahGuest wrote: ↑Fri May 09, 2025 6:43 pmAnd WML lost to them today by the same score as FT. ok FT coachGuest wrote: ↑Fri May 09, 2025 4:08 pm Beast had best win % in back half of the season. They’re not spectacular but they are definitely good.
Any AAA additions dont seem to jump off the screen, but they’ll be an upgrade on bottom end. Similar to MNS I’m guessing. Both Replaced a couple lower end and got more solid.
FT and VP are going to end up as teams to beat by December. VP was already formidable last year and a high end goalie will do wonders. FT is hell on wheels. No weakness in the lineup, two towering defencemen, elite goalie, top forward staying bolstered by new additions (i think AAA?). Would be a match to behold if they played some OMHA AAA teams.
Also i agree with another poster that WML and HV will surprise.
Re: 2015 AA
5 teams in the west loop
Have now played in tournaments so anybody can watch and conclude what they like
Not on who was on team last year or who had a heater at some period of time or the coaching as it is the same guys
But objectively not having been on the ice this is the quality of play
MNS
FT
MB/WML
HVS
The only surprise is
WML is a lot better or MB is a lot worse we will know more in a few months

Re: 2015 AA
I’d have WML above MB. They improved over the course of last season and appear to have made some solid upgrades.
Also, need to adjust MB for their best player. He was in the spring tournament, but won’t be on the roster in the Fall.

Curious why there always seems to be so much negativity directed at MB and, to a lesser extent, VR on this forum. From an outside perspective(we are in omha one more year), just trying to understand where it’s coming from and if there’s any true reasons for that as we’re considering one of the teams next season. One of my son’s buddies is with the MB and played against us last weekend, while a neighbor’s kid plays VR AA. Have seen kids from both programs last weekend playing against us in Everest, and they seemed skilled and respectful—just wondering what the issue is with these teams from those more in the know.

Re: 2015 AA
I wouldn't really consider the opinions of this site to be a basis of your decision, or would put very little value on it, perhaps slightly directional, regardless of the team (this would go for any team). Most are just trolling, having a certain grudge against certain parents/coaches, etc. It's U11 hockey, the vast majority of the kids, parents and coaches in this age group have been pretty good, and are quite friendly, depending on the type of development you want for your child/situation you want them to be in. Ie. Parent coach vs non-parent coach. There are some pretty good organizations in this loop. Would look at other variables vs the opinions here as a basis.Guest wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 8:24 am Curious why there always seems to be so much negativity directed at MB and, to a lesser extent, VR on this forum.
