No it’s not. Most teams are 90% formed.

No idea how it works with the AA teams, in that I am guessing most have a line or so committed, perhaps an under-ager (2016) committed, then I guess they try to finalize the 2nd line with AAA bubble players that find themselves looking the week of AA tryouts.

Any team with a hope to succeed next year will already have 2 full lines and may grab AAA cuts at tryouts. If they’re waiting for tryouts to fill the second line they’re in for a rough season.

I'd say it's more like this

NYHL weaker tier 1 & stronger tier 2 players
KSL weaker tier 1 & stronger tier 2 players
CDS mid to stronger tier 1 players
Not sure about the MHL

Don't a lot of the Tier 1 and Tier 2 CDS teams just keep together to form AA teams? I.e. NT Red, Leaside Gold, SIR? How do the teams like TA, NYK, FH field teams AA?
