Yeah, our team is 100% KSL. Zero exceptions.
Wow - KSL must have some secret sauce that makes talented kids who work hard in the NYHL / MHL / OMHA / CDS and CDP fall behind - it’s magic. Anyone who believes these anonymous bold statements from unbiased sources are in anyway legit and not talking their book needs to read a few quotes from PT Barnum

There is no secret sauce, if you read up you’ll see that I agreed with the person who said “they were more prepared”

They’ve been in a more intense and rigorous structure than house league and MD.

From some of our KSL teammates I can say every one of them made an AAA team. I think you’re salty cause your kid was an MD cut.
Get your 9 year olds name out to the hockey community, make sure to blast their highlight reel on insta. Oh and for heaven sake, don’t forget to build them a portfolio with all their gamesheet stats
KSL is great if you want to spend a lot of money and travel all over and be surrounded by egomaniacs who think their kid is elite. MD team, can be awesome as long as you play for a coach with a high hockey IQ. Coaching is number one. KSL kids get more exposure and hockey is about politics so that’s why more of them make it in first year.
100%
Sounds like KSL is using this site as a recruitment tool. :D

Is GTHL really much better than OMHA or is the issue just travel?

Well my son played up last year and we were a 9th place team in the G that lost one game to the OMHA in like 10 games.

So yes it’s not even close in most cases. Whitby will be very good at 2015

The question really should be whether it’s the actual development or that talented kids just find their way into the G. If kids stayed in OMHA there would be less disparity. Dissolving of teams and KSL may likely narrow the gap. Expect YSE, WW, COW, Quinte and Northshore to all be good due to development in KSL.

Maybe its because my kid isn't ELITE ELITE AAAA type talented. He is just good, and will probably be a upper-middle of the pack for AAA. I don't know why ANYONE would want to drive into the city multiple nights a week, and deal with the much shittier parents? Am I missing something? Don't kids get drafted into the OHL from tones of AAA teams in OMHA?

Hockey Canada has made sure there are equally shitty parents in both loops, you don’t have to worry about that.

All jokes aside, we had an amazing parent group in ksl and in omha and hope that this year is great too. We had a bad one a few years ago… makes for a long season…

Exactly. And I get that the top top top kids think they need to maximize everything because they have a shot at doing something in hockey - but shit, if your kid is that good he will get the same opportunities in OMHA too. Wild that people drive that far for the perception its "better"

Guest wrote: Fri Apr 12, 2024 7:44 pm After 3rd skate they can sign you or provide you with waivers (for OMHA anyways)
Isn't it after the 4th skate? If its 3rd skate that is news to me.
They don’t usually make cuts until after 3rd or 4th skate but I think you can request to be signed or released after 2
