Sounds like KSL is using this site as a recruitment tool.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 10:02 pm100%Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 9:09 pmKSL is great if you want to spend a lot of money and travel all over and be surrounded by egomaniacs who think their kid is elite. There is no secret sauce, if you read up you’ll see that I agreed with the person who said “they were more prepared”
They’ve been in a more intense and rigorous structure than house league and MD.
From some of our KSL teammates I can say every one of them made an AAA team. I think you’re salty cause your kid was an MD cut.
2015 AAA

Re: 2015 AAA
Well my son played up last year and we were a 9th place team in the G that lost one game to the OMHA in like 10 games.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 6:52 am Is GTHL really much better than OMHA or is the issue just travel?
So yes it’s not even close in most cases. Whitby will be very good at 2015
Re: 2015 AAA
The question really should be whether it’s the actual development or that talented kids just find their way into the G. If kids stayed in OMHA there would be less disparity. Dissolving of teams and KSL may likely narrow the gap. Expect YSE, WW, COW, Quinte and Northshore to all be good due to development in KSL.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 6:55 amWell my son played up last year and we were a 9th place team in the G that lost one game to the OMHA in like 10 games.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 6:52 am Is GTHL really much better than OMHA or is the issue just travel?

Re: 2015 AAA
Maybe its because my kid isn't ELITE ELITE AAAA type talented. He is just good, and will probably be a upper-middle of the pack for AAA. I don't know why ANYONE would want to drive into the city multiple nights a week, and deal with the much shittier parents? Am I missing something? Don't kids get drafted into the OHL from tones of AAA teams in OMHA?Guest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 8:38 amThe question really should be whether it’s the actual development or that talented kids just find their way into the G. Re: 2015 AAA
Hockey Canada has made sure there are equally shitty parents in both loops, you don’t have to worry about that.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 8:49 amMaybe its because my kid isn't ELITE ELITE AAAA type talented. All jokes aside, we had an amazing parent group in ksl and in omha and hope that this year is great too. We had a bad one a few years ago… makes for a long season…
Re: 2015 AAA
Exactly. And I get that the top top top kids think they need to maximize everything because they have a shot at doing something in hockey - but shit, if your kid is that good he will get the same opportunities in OMHA too. Wild that people drive that far for the perception its "better"Guest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 9:00 amHockey Canada has made sure there are equally shitty parents in both loops, you don’t have to worry about that.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 8:49 amMaybe its because my kid isn't ELITE ELITE AAAA type talented. Re: 2015 AAA
They don’t usually make cuts until after 3rd or 4th skate but I think you can request to be signed or released after 2
