GTHL with the highest number of kids playing hockey and the most opportunities to train, be seen and get scouted have roughly an equal amount of picks as the OMHA whom people trash.
OMHA seems like the a solid place to play, and maybe some better opportunities to play.
Outside of the super elite players in the G, Seems like the development happens more on the outside.

2 more goalies in second round (5th place G team and O)

Probably about 7/8 G kids who didn’t go in the first 3 rounds because of school commitments. 26 vs 20 is not roughly the same. Its what Mississauga tried to do with Jack Hughes when they took him 8th overall in 2017
Its not really committed to school since they cant commit til August, but its more so people who have told ohl teams that they plan on going the ncaa route
Lane (Marlboros) Katzin (Marlboros) Stark (Marlboros) all fell because they told the ohl that they probably plan on going ncaa
You see a lot of Americans get drafted who will never play in the O in the later rounds such as JM drafted by Kitchener CT and WH drafted by saginaw
Ottawa picked AB and CM (Chicago mission) just to hold their rights if they switch their mind
London (Hagens (top 2025 guy underage at the u18s) etc
