Dad, are you losing your mind? “were moving to one of the top 3...NN, OR, HH...or heading to the GTHL.” or just dumb?
Seriously...? When answering the question as to why we left, I tried to be very careful about being as sensitive as possible and give the truth as to why we left? This is what you took away from this? Are you that interested in tearing down someone for no other reason than to just do it? Or are you that OFFENDED that a Burlington Kid might have went to the GTHL that you ended up misreading everything I said?

Read carefully what I wrote about the BE players

"They all scattered to different organizations. NN Stars, Halton Hurricanes & Huskies mostly."

Now read the part about open borders and the SCTA in general...

"it was unlikely that BE was going to be able to dress a serious competitive AAA team since all the top players in the SCTA were moving to one of the top 3...NN, OR, HH...or heading to the GTHL."

So before you go anonymously slamming someone else's intelligence, read twice, think about what you want to say, erase that...read again, and then formulate an intelligent response. Otherwise you look like the idiot.

Honestly most of you are idiots. I will make this my first and only post and I will never look at this site ever again.

Facts are that our top players who all benefitted from being double shifted and special teams at the expense of our weaker players for the most part said that they were coming back and flat out lied and left. The Burlington 2009 age group isn’t that strong, we were a mid pack team trying to get better with some additional imports for this season. Our top players panicked when our Halton import (who we helped rediscover his game….dads words) went back on his word that he was staying. So losing 15 goals and that is going to cause you to go to NN. Continue to enjoy the drive, you taught your kid how to go against his word, abandon his friends/hometown and run away from a fight all for the glory of playing on Sunday in tournaments.

My non parent co coach who I have known for 15 year and would bleed for, coaches with a passion, care and respect for each of his players. He also makes them accountable much like he does his own son. He took some heat last year from a parent during the OFHs for calling out a player but it was nothing me or the Eagles had issues with. But you “snow plow” parents can’t have little Johnny figure it out for himself….no let’s make life easier for him and not let him deal with any adversity in his life.

This year has been a struggle for sure….anytime you have to replace 60 goals it’s going to be tough but we continue to fight. We have had some highs and some lows but every time we get knocked down we get up….and for that I am proud of these guys this year. We will continue to work hard in practice, and with video and summer skates and maybe in a couple of years with the help maybe of more imports be a OHL cup contender, that’s the goal.

So whenever my hockey friends, scouts, agents asks me about little Johnny I will be honest and tell them what I think about the parents and kids character for using “development” as an excuse to leave Burlington, your cowards. You had a great opportunity to maybe be a top team if you had a little faith and trust in the Eagles/coaches and you were willing to put in the work but you took the easy road to an already winning program. Let’s see how this movie ends in 2 years….I wouldn’t bet against us.
Let's revisit this amazing post by what looks like MW or TW! You have won 16 reg season games in 2 years, and you're claiming to be making the OHL cup in 2 years!!!! How about you try and beat the best 2009 AAA regular season record of the 2019 AAA team! Look it up. 16 wins! One season not two! The Whalen year! When players were developed! By the coach.......

Let’s face it, our BE organization hasn’t been competitive on a provincial scale in any age group at minor midget or lower EVER. I’m talking Ontario ranking inside the top 5 or top 10 at minimum. Hanging with the big clubs. Never happened. You can’t blame those who sought greener pastures elsewhere because they didn’t stick around, wait, and pray for something that we haven’t experienced in the history of the organization. And consistently shitty results are a direct reflection of our coaching and development so let’s not kid ourselves.
My family is still BE and we aren’t going anywhere but it’s sad to see all the jealousy and hate towards those who left to give it a shot somewhere else. A lot of people stick around because their kid couldn’t make a triple A team without their BE connections too, so you can’t credit them for staying.
ST is a different story cause he left after getting stripped of his coaching spot and cry baby antics don’t count.

Ahhhh this is the MHT thread that just keeps on giving! Seems to me that the consensus of every post on here boils down to this

1. BE Org is a farce full of collusion and favors
2. BE Development is a joke.
3. BE Coaches are petty, childish man children with no real discernable coaching talent, hired by the org. to tow the company line. (See point #1)
4. No talent gets to play if they have $$$
5. Medium Talent gets to play if they have $$$ but don't expect anything as far as development, too busy trying to teach the no talent ankle breakers how to actually skate. (see point #4)
6. Any hope for home grown real talent kids developing is hopeless, because they are held hostage by the Org. If they do manage to get out, they are targets on and off the ice for anyone sipping the BE kool-aid.

I think this about sums it up!

And yet, here you are analysing the team's past two seasons and trying to relive the glory days of when your kid was 10.

This may be true but take it or leave it. If you take it, it’s because your kids doesn’t have the talent to leave (hint - if other organizations aren’t calling you, talent has not been recognized). If you leave it, congratulations, you either have brains, balls or money. But don’t complain about it anonymously online hoping that magically things will change and BE will hire the best coach who focuses on your kids overlooked talent and also brings back kids who left the org along with some great imports. Quit whining and enjoy the game without the sucky attitudes.
