Hahahaha Funniest thing I've heard in a while! BE is a joke. The usual suspects will be on top. NN, OR, HH... the rest of the teams are as useful as pilons in a practice. BE won't even come close to top three, they will just be battling it out with the rest of the dumpster fires for the coveted 4th spot.
23-24 Burlington Eagles coaches

Why do the Eagles not employ independent evaluators at any of their tryouts? Flam Sabres do. (and their costs are a LOT lower)Guest wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 7:25 am Heard the Tryouts went great again this year
Struggling to understand how independent evaluators don't bring a lot of value to the process
Too many kids staying on teams or the wrong kids getting cut because of personal relationships of their Coach
Re: 23-24 Burlington Eagles coaches
What benefit do you think independent evaluators bring? Burlington tried that with the Bulls, and used the same “independent” evaluator that ran summer camps, and privates 12 months a year. Attended by the same kids trying out, of course. Who do you think he ranked highest, whether they deserved to be ranked there or not? I was a coach, and the rankings I got at the end of tryouts were hilarious. But predictable.Guest wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 2:58 pmWhy do the Eagles not employ independent evaluators at any of their tryouts? Flam Sabres do. There’s a lot to dislike about the Eagles but independent evaluators are not something they need to have.
Re: 23-24 Burlington Eagles coaches
Simple, there are no independent evaluators that grease the executive's hands for benefits like golf, and therefore there will not be independent evaluators. The trouble is you are thinking about improving the program not benefiting executives or their buddies.Guest wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 6:52 pmWhat benefit do you think independent evaluators bring? Re: 23-24 Burlington Eagles coaches
So because it failed once the Eagles should never try again? I know of several kids that were protected by CL and plenty of situations where coaches just kept friends kids on teams. Original poster mentioned Sabres - kudos to them for at least trying. I'm sure we can find independent evaluators somewhere in Ontario and not those who run camps for Burlington kidsGuest wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 6:52 pmWhat benefit do you think independent evaluators bring? You're right, maybe not the biggest thing to dislike about the org but seems like an easier one to fix to agree with OP

So the Sabres are using them. Great. Do we know anything else? Are they good? Do they know what they’re doing? Are they the same guys who run privates all over town? Are Sabres teams better for it?Guest wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2024 8:48 amSo because it failed once the Eagles should never try again?
