It’s always funny to hear dads talk about their big kid will be so good when hitting starts. News flash…if he can’t skate, he can’t play hockey. He’ll have 2 suspensions and 2 penalties every game in the first half of his first contact season and his 15 minutes of game will be over. Welcome to single A.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 7:16 pmIs that a polite way of saying your own kid can’t keep up? Pylons aren’t very good when contact starts either.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 2:58 pmIn a Few years after the brick you kid will move on and learn to play the violin when contact startsGuest wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 7:03 pmGuest wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 7:59 am Being on the brick means your on the path and you have what it takes to make it to the next level. Hard work and obsession is what most of these kids have . Obsession usually translates to success. Say what you want about being selected, at the end of the day it’s a honour and should be proud of all the kids that have been selected . It’s no coincidence that 29 kids between Team USA and Canada were on brick teams. Mommy and Daddy’s money means absolutely nothing when it comes to being selected.
Kid has amazing talent ! End of story!!!
The great thing about the Brick. If your kid can’t make it to a Bruck squad, you know your future I. Hockey is of a ‘recreational’ nature. If you want your kid to be ‘scholarship’ or ‘ professional’ worthy, move on quickly to another sport. The future hockey stars are at the Brick. Yes, I will be there. Can’t wait.

Re: Brick 2023
How often does a Brick spot open up? Kid decides to do summer camp, other sports in the way, family trip? Just trying to manage real opportunity to get my kid on a Brick team.
Re: Brick 2023
Teams should be set within the next 6-8 weeks I think, before spring tournaments start. If you’re not on a team by then, stick with the summer coding camp.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 10:56 pm How often does a Brick spot open up? Re: Brick 2023
Stop trying to find back door ways on to a team. If he isn't being pursued by the staff of a team, he'd be nothing more than a filler anyway and you dont wanna make that trip to watch your kid not get any meaningful minutes. Spend the money and time on training to improveGuest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 11:55 pmTeams should be set within the next 6-8 weeks I think, before spring tournaments start. Re: Brick 2023
You can always tryout for another team IE Detroit, Boston, PE, etc. Each team is allowed to pick up a few imports. You will need a formal release letter from BD and PH.

Re: Brick 2023
The majority of the U20 jr team is from out west. I think only 3 are from Ontario. Maybe just maybe the better talent is not from Ontario?
Re: Brick 2023
Get your stats right.
Ontario-Brennan Othmann, Shane Wright, Adam Fantilli, Brandt Clarke, Ethan El Mastro, Jack Matier, Benjamin Gaudreau, Owen Beck* (Replaced Colton Dach (Alb))
2023 4-B.C. 5-Alb. 2-Sask. 8-Ont. 3-Que.1-N.L.
2021 2-B.C. 4-Alb. 3 Sask. 7-Ont. 2-Que. 2-N.L. 1-Ykn. 1-N.S.

2019 0-B.C. 5-Alb 2-Man. 9-Ont. 3-Que 1-P.E.I. 2-N.S.
Over those 4 years Ontario represented on average 36%, B.C. 9%, Alb 18%, Sask 6%, Man 5%, Que 13%.
