Brick 2025
Re: Brick 2025
All I think about, talk about, dream about is The Brick. I am not even playing , I’m the Dad.
Re: Brick 2025
If either PH or TBD actually build a real team not based on friend , money or politics they would win hands down.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 8:10 pm All I think about, talk about, dream about is The Brick. I am not even playing , I’m the Dad.
Re: Brick 2025
A true all star team from the GTA would dominate. Unfortunately PH and TBD are in it for the money.
Re: Brick 2025
Agreed, I could definitely afford to go to the Brick. My son had an amazing time in Klevr last season and improved every day. However, I am not going to waste money on the August “ID” skates. If he keeps improving he could have a shot, but his play in AAA will determine that, not his performance in an overpriced, cash grab “development “ skate. I will likely fail at the “political game” because I don’t care to play it.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 11:30 amAgreed, The kids are good, some of the better kids.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 10:02 amUltimately there are enough parents with FOMO who have kids that can play at Brick level. So the teams will be decent. But if you're a parent on one of the teams, and you think your kid beat out all the top kids for that spot, your head is firmly in the sand.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 9:38 amAnd, like I said, the fear of missing out might come into play closer to and he might change his mind?Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 8:42 amThe people peddling the "your kid probably isn't good enough" BS are likely those who's incomes rely on people believing this tournament is actually the best of the best. (I say 5, but honestly, I've never seen anyone better) He says today that he would have no interest. Who knows when its the 2016's turn, see what happens. Not sure if anyone is given a "free ride" if they are good enough with this tournament. But, he's pretty adamant he isn't going to take his kid.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 7:00 am
Ya same as every other year. That translates to,
My kid isn’t good enough I’m going to tell ppl it was to expensive.
but the kid is incredible, other than his own "fun" of watching him and letting him play in that big of a tournament - he won't gain anything by playing in it. The kid can walk onto any team he wants.
Who knows what happens to him in the future, anything can happen.
But - you aren't the BEST kids in Ontario by default, You just happen to fit into the middle of Venn Diagram that has three circles:
"Has money"
"Has Skill"
"Plays the political games of hockey"
to each their own. My kid isn't good enough likely, so not a concern of mine.

You are playing with fire. We are talking about the Brick (not Klever) .. the BRICK! Give you head a shake and do the skates.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 10:01 pmAgreed, I could definitely afford to go to the Brick. Boys become men at the Brick. I’ve seen it firsthand. It’s a game changer. It will raise their level as both a player and a person. They will forever be at another level compared to their peers. So shut up and give me your money.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 8:07 amYou are playing with fire. We are talking about the Brick (not Klever) .. the BRICK! Re: Brick 2025
This is a Not for Profit Tournament, The Brick. All teams going to the Brick, should be operating in a Not for Profit model. Mandate of the Brick and its teams.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 8:33 amBoys become men at the Brick. I’ve seen it firsthand. It’s a game changer. Re: Brick 2025
Who will be the PH brick coach? I’ve heard multiple scenarios.
Staying with current 2015 elite coach
Current coach staying on as AC bringing in another HC
Current coach being replaced entirely

Re: Brick 2025
More people should aspire to fail at the political game. It’s pathetic and hilarious to watch. Everyone trashed our coach when they found out he applied to coach AAA. His friends were the first ones to laugh and say how under qualified he is, and how he would never get the job. But here he is, and all his “friends” couldn’t be kissing his ass harder. He seems like a nice guy, and I bet he’ll do a good job. Watching all the backstabbing translate into ass kissing told me everything I need to know about hockey politics.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 10:01 pmAgreed, I could definitely afford to go to the Brick.
