Isn’t it sad when every team MD has ever played on he’s quit and blamed other people for him quitting?
He was in tourney this weekend and quit pro hockey after the first day. I heard something like not enough ice time. Played one game with another team on the weekend and was a disaster. Got a bunch of goals but actually tried to deak through four kids when kids open. I was watching and he was on a 2 on 1 and his teammate called for the puck and then just skated to the bench as he knew the kid wouldn’t pass - good luck with your new teammate lol
Is it less about the kid as it is the parents? Everyone can see he doesn’t pass the puck.. parents obviously don’t care or still pay him for every goal
MD can sometimes hold onto the puck a little long it seems while waiting for someone to get open…..I mean the kid did finish 1st overall in goals and assists in the Alliance so he obviously knows how to move the puck.
His dad is a super nice guy if you get a chance to know him, but also wouldn’t wanna be on his bad side from what I understand.
From what I understand at the Bauer tournament, Pro Hockey grossly underplayed him (conflict of interest to do with winter hockey), so he got permission and went to another team to get a regular shift, then scored 4 goals. People complained after that and he was then forced to leave the tournament. Sad that grown men hate on a 10 year old like that.
BTW what’s all this Best of the Best thing about?
I heard a rumour MD and JH from Toronto and MD from Alliance aren’t playing? If that’s the case why would it be called the Best of the Best? Another money grab it seems.

I’m sure he’s a nice guy but I can tell you this kid doesn’t wait for kids to come open just hogs puck beyond what is acceptable. Kids don’t want to play with him as he’s a one man show. He has so much ability to make other kids better but chooses not to
Jh and md not playing as they want to do other things. It’s not really best if best and more like who you know or how much money you have.

Laughable. Have you watched MD play? The entire team could be open and he’d rather take his chances trying to dangle through 5 opposing players than pass to any one of the open kids. He is anything but a team player and will be a huge problem for Canucks this year. Like someone posted earlier, it’s never his fault when he quits a team.
Best of the Best is like any other team. You have kids that deserve to be there and kids that don’t but are there because of politics and/or meeting the criteria of x amount of players from each team. MD is on Alliance roster but things could have changed. Don’t see JH listed.
I think everyone in here can agree he is great at hockey but he is not a great hockey player. Tom of skill, but awful to watch him circle around the net in Ozone on PP about 6 times when kids are screaming for a pass. Once all the bridges burn up no one will take MD on with his and his parents reputation. When a player has no accountability for his actions, he will continue to do wrong expecting nothing to come of it. You can’t play hockey with a 1 man team, Elgin will learn soon enough.
How are parents feeling about emc bench this year? Lots of rumours and talking behind coaches back the last 2 years. Does swapping RD and RS as head and asst on paper actually stop the parents from whining? Might be the most toxic parent group in 12 alliance

This right here. He is going to be awful for team dynamics. There’s a reason he left SC. Pair that with a few of the parents/board members that are nightmares and RD as the “head” coach. Recipe for disaster. EMC will be lucky to be top of the pack.

I’m thinking he leaves by Christmas IF the coach has the balls to bench him when he doesn’t pass. Can the coach keep this kid in line might be the biggest question
