Any coach that has filled his whole U18 roster now is going to get burned. Too much movement still to come after junior camps and OHL teams assigning kids to programs.

so are they just holding a few spots now for those kids? what about people still attending skates at this point who weren't drafted. do they still have a shot at this point?

Any coach who doesn’t know who is playing Junior next yr and won’t, and how many assigned spots he has, well in advance, shouldn’t be coaching at this level.

Oh right I forgot all U18 coaches have a crystal ball so they know what everyone else is doing. 🙄

If you’re worried about what everyone else is doing, you’ve already lost. Good coaches, with good programs who treat their players right don’t have to worry about everyone else. There is no shortage of good players who will come. The bad coaches will always be chasing it and complaining, holding skates with AA calibre kids, lying to themselves and others that Jr cuts are coming ….

The top teams are formed already, holding one or 2 spots for September, or have a number of kids ready to fill the few they might lose to Jr.

There are coaches having skates everywhere. If your coach can’t fill a skate, or they are all AA players. There’s a problem and it won’t get better.

Disagree

The top teams understand they may have to leave a spot or two open for a player who is a fringe jr a player.

But it’s gut call, some coaches over recruit to protect themselves if they don’t get that player.

So when the post above says "The top teams are formed already, holding one or 2 spots for September"

You actually agree

So how many spots will the AAA teams hold for the August tryouts?

Those were for in zone kids only so that’s not surprising. More will show up once they are open to everyone.
Yeah okay coach, what about the AA kids at your “development” skates? Face it after getting kicked out of one org and flaming out last yr, word’s out and no one wants to play for you.
