Maybe even lock you in for 2-4 years once you join a team unless released to avoid all the team flopping every year? so if you join a team at U10 you need a release from that team until U14. U14 and up its 2 years forces coaches to develop players as there would be less movement.

it would be nice to have a governing body that is accountable and holds minor hockey associations accountable. Wishful thinking i think.
