Kris Mallette’s five-game suspension brings up some interesting questions about bench decorum in the OHL. Is a five-game suspension too much, too little, or just right for this type of incident? Where do we draw the line between passionate coaching and crossing the line? Do these types of altercations ultimately trickle down and influence behavior in minor hockey? I’m curious to hear from coaches, players, and parents at all levels of the game. What are your thoughts on appropriate bench behavior, and have you witnessed similar incidents in your own hockey experiences? I predict we’ll see stricter enforcement of bench conduct rules in the future. What do you think? Is this incident a sign that things are getting out of hand, or just part of the game's intensity?
