Junior leagues have been parent run for decades, but with so many spots it really is inconsequential. Kids who are legit will always find their way.

When a parent "buys" their kid a spot, all they are doing is buying their kid time to develop. If the kid is a late bloomer, things could pan out. If not, he will likely age out and end up playing CIS.

Bottom line, there are too many eyes in hockey to overlook a kid. If a parent is upset because their kid didn't get drafted, they need to realize that it's not because of corruption...it's because the kid isn't good enough.
Not true.
So many legitimately talented kids are not being played and not being developed because others less talented pay for spots and playing time.
Paying for a spot ensures a kid gets developed and gets ice time while others do not.
So many kids getting drafted because their parents have paid for a spot and paid their way all through the GTHL. They take away opportunities for kids who actually deserve spots.
Corruption has ruined our talent pool and our hockey.

So teams aren’t playing more talented, OHL draft worthy kids because their parents didn’t pay the coach? Legitimate studs who would otherwise play in the OHL?
At the end of the day I find it a bit hard to believe that really talented players would ride the pine because their parents didn’t pony up
