Let's keep ALL racism out if schools and hockey. Be wary of below-the-radar misandry too.

The GTHL would be filled to the brim with enough talent to fill 20 AAA teams. But every reasonable person who has witnessed that money draining sesspool has eventually said F it, I’m done. 100% agree.
What he said! The G needs to turn these teams back into non-profits like they're supposed to be. G AAA is a league for the rich, not the best. I don't think the colour of your skin matters as much as the parents ability to line the pockets of the coach and organization. If AAA was based on talent, half the kids would be replaced. But we all know that will never happen too many scumbags making too much money, plus an organization that doesn't have the guts to change to landscape. So sad!
This is not entirely true. G AAA is for the best of the best and then if you are not in that very small group of the absolute best, it is for people who are willing to pay. Money is clearly a massive issue for the whole hockey complex, but the truly elite kids (those that are first round OHL draft kids, playing top tier NCAA) the GTHL makes a ton of sense. For everyone else, if you have the money to spend then go for it.
Why do so many people hate money on this thread?
No one hates money. They hate how money has become more important than talent when it should be the other way around.

Guest wrote: Sat Mar 04, 2023 2:50 pm GTHL too diluted already. Like G said...buy a team. Good for the G teams to be thinking about ALL the AAA level kids. If you can't afford a to buy a team sponsor ALL under-privaledged kids at young age to get to AAA level. Lots of great diversity in GTA & the G already. Coaches are welcoming of TALENT.

AAA Coaches are welcoming of money not talent

100% Only welcoming of kids with money and/or connections.

If you are not the very small group of the absolute best the next to fill spots shouldn't be money kids whose parents are willing to pay, the other spots should be for the best, after the best of the best.
The money kids are killing hockey in AAA. I know si many kids deserving to be there but the parents aren't connected and can't buy a spot so they end up playing below where they should while a money kid plays where they don't belong.
Nobody dislikes money except when it's dirty and corrupt.

Akim Aliu is to hockey what Colin Kaepernick is to football!! Both were overhyped, shitty players with the exception of Kaepernick having one decent year where Aliu...had a decent year in Peewee!

All I kept hearing a year ago was how when Tavares/Gagner bought the Marlboros, this would be the start of bringing down costs at all levels of the G. Starting at AAA, we would see more volunteer/parent coaches, less SWAG, less skills session, no free rides, more dryland an no costs resulting in lower team budgets and lower costs per player. The G in turn would make sure all organizations were non profit. The war on costs will move to AA and A with organizations auditing team budgets to ensure no 'scams' and ensuring if there is ways to get better deals and remove unnecessary costs. Some progress but lots of work to do.
