No one cares about the brick after the brick
Go for the experience if you like, but it will never further your kids hockey career.
Agreed
We went. It was what you made it to be.
Would we do it again. No
Will it open doors in the future probably not.
To many Arrogant parents there

Other parents aren’t the reason your kid sucked at the brick. If you ever even went.

People are missing the point around the Brick. Yes, the tourney is an unbelievable few days with minor hockey highest level 10 year olds at the same place playing hockey. However, the point is the network established for both parents and kids. The point is having your kid as captain of his local team as he is now a 'Brick kid'. The point is he will be selected to future all star teams, future summer team, top AAA teams and will play the lead role on those teams. You are not seeing the forest through the trees when considering the Brick.

They never will because they're too busy being angry that they didn't get to go. I cant even count how many people don't even bother trying out using the excuse that they think its stupid or a money grab when in actuality they just aren't ready to be faced with the possibility of being told their player just isn't quite good enough YET. As much as its not a huge deal to a kids hockey future if he goes, its not a huge deal also if they don't so there's no need to talk down about those who did or vice-vwrsa.

You nailed it!! We dealt with that last year.
The parents who always say they chose not to go are always ones who’s kid wouldn’t have made it anyway (and everybody knows it). Well said.

Bottom line, find a way to get to the Brick if your kid is a 2013 birth year and in minor hockey.

Anyone have any insight who has been chosen so far for each team in Ontario

Bulldogs?
PH?

I’ve heard they have locked in 3-4 per
Team.

I have been to two skates. I have heard that they are waiting until the new year to lock up spots. The plan is to start with an Elite 8 on Bulldogs and assume the same for PH. Not sure what to think as getting the run around right now. I plan to do a skate this week.

The plan is to drag out some open spots as long as possible to maximize tryout attendance. If you had a shot you'd know by now.

There will be kids who deserve to be at the Brick. There will also be a lot who are there purely because of connections. It's a great experience, but not something that will make or break a 10 year olds future in hockey. Now enough about this topic.
