that guy is as greasy and shady as they come.
That doesn’t even begin to describe the guy.
It’s why this team will never progress past the playdown rounds, other teams developed over the course of the season and leave them in the dust the last 2 seasons. His practices are a gong show and so disorganized with no structure. Choosing his friends over better players doesn’t help them any, and his kid isn’t even in the to 12 D at the A level.
League doesn't give a rats a**. this age group has a couple of years left and A is pretty much out of sight, out of mind. As long as the team is filled and the league gets the $ from the fees there is no incentive to make a change.

2-4 record in playdowns, the worst record of any A Red team for playdowns.

Well how about an association that was run previously by a 10 year term president who so badly wanted control no one dare run against. When his kid ages out he finally steps aside so a guy who has ZERO clue what he's doing and is sinking faster than the Titanic. After 2 years he steps down, no president for the season, inmates running the asylum now. An organization that doesn't have proper Bylaws/Policies in place. No minutes, half baked financial statements. Unofficial meetings held with half the board prior to the official board meeting. Zero supports for players or coaches, zero fks given about member concerns. Sad reality is, a lot of associations like this. No accountability, zero firm policies on conflict of interest or ethical behaviours. Minor hockey associations are non profits, registered non profits have their problems but are bound my a much broader set of standards. Minor hockey is run by cowboys, let's face it. It's the wild west.

JV was the worst thing to happen to this organization, when he changes the blasts to prevent the majority from running against him and he starts appointing people to positivism that were previously elected positions. Also, see The slogan for the new goalie program? “make Goalies Great Again” quoting Trump? Run by a guy with no goalie experience? Let me guess, a paid advisor who happens to be a buddy of JV. You can’t make this stuff up.

Run by a goalie dad who is trying to make sure that his kid stays at a level he doesn't belong at within the org. Which doesn't make him the first person to do this, but geez come on.

At least you're getting some development. Our association does ZERO development. About 1 practice a week on average for A hockey. Coaches get no support (not that they'd take advice), half of them played a sniff of Jr. C somewhere and thing they're a coaching God. Hell, one can't stay sober for a 7 pm practice. Spends the last 15 mins of practice doing a shoot out. Finished 13-21-3 and had the team the last 4 years.

Its not development, they brought in Steve Mason a couple years ago as their Goalie Advisor. Former NHL Goalie, was a PR move as he was down south most of the hockey season. Its all smoke and mirrors, and now their current VP of Finance is going to be the Goalie Guy.

VERY well said. Steve Mason was done right after he shot videos for the org sleeping in his goalie gear and wearing it to mow the lawn. Now the solution is to bring in a goalie dad and somehow this will be seen as a win because after Steve no showing for 4 years this will claim to be "better" when in reality it's just another form of a failure.
