The kids that have been earning a NRP spot each year have to tryout and earn the spot and it is a maximum of 3 spots.

Those players deserve to kept trying out in that Centre. It has become home for them and they consider it their team. It should not be a lateral move is the point of the comment.

There is a reason those players are tryout in neighboring centers. Perhaps its because it is a healthier and better environment for the player as well as hockey development 🤷‍♀️

That's what is meant by a grandfather clause, not grandfathering players in for years at a time.

Also the comment about calling a person a whiner or telling a person to suck it up and or move is a bit brutal! 😕

I know 3 different families from 2 different centers it affects and it's not an easy situation for anyone! Everyone is entitled to a respectful opinion. 💙
The issue is your association in now at the level of what your kid has been trying out for. So your player can play A at their old BB now A centre. now other BB centre kids can have an opportunity to NRP to that team. Its time to go back to your centre since your not a resident of that other centre.
But why should a player who is thriving have to come back to a centre that is not as good and where that player doesn't want to be. Why can't there be a grandfather clause and allow players to stay where they have been playing for years!!!! :?: :?: Lets do whats right for the player and their mental health this is negatively affecting children!! Why should players be forced to come back where they don't want to be!!!!!
You sound pathetic.
"Why, oh why, does this have to happen to me"

I bet you were one of those kids in the playground that would say "fine, I'm going to take my ball and go home", whenever you didn't get your way.
LMAOOOOOOO was thinking the same thing. Massive whiner, can't follow the rules, then quit, move or stfu! It's insulting that people think they can have special privilege. They can take their ball and shove it where the sun don't shine! Imagine this same whiner who coaches and other parents whisper about, cancer parent.

Sounds like you didn't see this coming and you've burnt some bridges with your home centre.

People "want" lots of things, that does not mean that they are entitled to it. Just stop your whining already, no one wants to hear it anymore.

To anyone complaining, the OMHA is a ridiculously bad league. Terrible! One step above the Alliance which shouldn’t even qualify as hockey.

Realignment may help your league get stronger and you desperately need that. Embrace it.

This just isn't true. After the GTHL the Alliance produces more OHL draft picks than the ETA and SCTA. If you put them together, sure, but that is a different conversation.

You want to grandfather all levels of hockey? No rules and no tryouts. Just grandfather everyone. That's a clown show.
In some cases the home center has been re-designated but the quality of play has not matched the designation. In that case the player may be in a higher center only by play and not letter. As a parent who wants their kids to excel at all things they do in life I would want them to reach out an do the very best they can in all endeavors. I don't believe its anything against home centers and actually it should be looked at as a positive that the home centers are producing players and watching them move on to bigger and brighter things. A mother bird kicks all chicks out of the nest at some point........

Rules are the rules, what makes you so privileged to have special treatment? This has nothing to do with skill on why most parents don't want to go back to a home centre, don't even try that bs. Sounds like crazy hockey mom reasoning to me! Best of luck with that.
