Notice how that family isn't invited to the Ottawa Steel spring program. Cut the cancer out.
Kid will flop in GTA , competition to tough, especially within your own team amongst players and parents. GTHL is merciless.

The kid plays for Axis, THE best spring team/program. I think they are fine not being invited to Ottawa Steel, which isn't a spring program.

I also did speak to his father and they are not going JRC.
Not sure why he doesn’t play for his own Ottawa spring team. And yes he is on JRC next year. laus will be paying

Well unless that dad lied, Bennett not going JRC. You mentioned something about Laus? Where is he playing? Leaving JRC?

This post has been requested to be taken down. Interesting what emerges from insecurity and poor judgement. I'm sure all the G parents are loving their experience and would do it all over again :)

Players on Myers have had multiple requests to go to the G, but are staying...hmm

To the HEO parents that feed these posts, Myers is as good as it gets. Complain to your board if you are unhappy. Coaches are compensated, but it's a 100% volunteer organization. Ottawa hockey is great. The HEO community is exactly that...a community. Everyone penny from tryouts to end of season goes...to the players. Peace out.

Steel is a good group of families that get along and whose kids are also pretty skilled players. It's not a knock on any side, but sometimes it's not a good fit for either. He'd be welcome, but Steel plays a disciplined systems and doesn't stray, which doesn't fit the player...who knows. It's also run by parents which is always interesting. Axis has a solid group of players and families that are loyal to the owner/coach and is a money-making machine...the registration fee for their "Top Gun" tournament (2009 only) is $4500! WOW.

Many teams initially set to go have backed out.

$4500? Lmao 🤣 in shitty rinks for $100 hr rental. Good 👍 scam! Steel would be wasting money. Competition to high

If you don't like the organization or the coaches, that's one thing, but when it comes to directly attacking the kids by name, that is not cool.

Agreed, who gives a crap. Just another 14yr old hockey player. None are special right now.

Nah. He's a great kid and competes like none other. His skills are such that the game will catch up to him, not the other way around. Will always be the most attractive player on the ice regardless of outcome, everyone sees potential, talk to any coach or scout. As more players are able to keep with him and react the trust will build. He's given a lot of rope to 'figure it out.' He moves the puck, but to a selective few based on instinct and trust that it's not turned over, often gets it back for a Gino. Haters gonna hate and wish he was on their team, for better or for worse.

His talent, like all, is based on the environment he's immersed in; family, friends, and the hockey community. Myers is 'all in' this time around, going in the same direction. Let's hope they taper on the margaritas later this week and finish the playoffs like they should.

Everyone gives a crap, it's why we're here commenting on these posts...lol. Lots of potential on that team. u18 game after practice last week, no less than a dozen OHL scouts and OHL Central Scouting in attendance. Maybe it's nothing, but when they're asking for rosters and game times...again, maybe it's nothing. U16 will hit each association in Ottawa like a ton of bricks if not prepared, and the 2008s will be the experiment unfortunately.
