Paying Agents

Post by Guest »

Looking for advice of what parents of kids that have agents do for them in terms of paying or compensating them. My sons agent (like all good agents) doesn’t charge or expect to get compensated until a pro contract is in place. However that’s a long ways away! In the meantime I feel like I should send him a few bucks or an Amazon gift card or something to show our appreciation for all his unpaid efforts. I plan to regardless but has anyone else done this and if so what would be an appropriate amount? $500? Thanks.

Maybe depends on how close you are to the draft. What age group is your son playing? U16 or U15?

That’s very nice of you and a great idea. I didn’t pay a cent for my sons Agent either. I think I will do the same.

Always a bunch of f-tards with their stupid replies. To answer one the the replies my son is 2007 and so OHL draft year. His agent has worked hard and talked with lots of team in the O as well as USHL and US colleges. It just seems weird not to give the guy a bit of love if even as a token gesture. Like I said, I’m doing it anyway. Was just curious if other dads felt the same or did something similar.

What's his projected draft round?
Maybe wait and see before you gift him?

You clowns actually get agents for OHL draft year kids? The teams must laugh at you.

Agents laugh harder when they get gifts from dumb parents.

Actually yes it's highly recommended that an agent represent your child going into their draft year. I guess you missed that one playing A...

Recommended by who... the dad who's a lawyer and never played a hockey game in their life?

There is nothing to negotiate in the OHL. If you're a mid-level player you will be in USports within a few years. If you are drafted in the first few rounds, you get a school boy package.

Everyone else is just happy to make a team and throw there highschool education down the drain.
