Are you ok with being restricted on where you shop for your consumer goods?
How about where you buy your home...or car?
How about where you take vacation?
How about where you send your kids to college or university?

Closed borders is the same....some "non elected governing body" dictates where you MUST play

There are way too many pretend AAA teams ...some could barely compete at AA....
There is no merit in your argument
It is comparing apples to walnuts (not even another fruit)
EMC is not broke, does not need fixing
It exists to develop Elgin-Middlesex players and keep the corruption of bought and sold positions out.
There will never be any "owned" teams
A skilled player should never be denied because Dad and Mom can't afford to pay the price of admission
If you really want that option, take your kid to the GTHL and find out the hard way
Also, not that I disagree with too many pretend AAA teams (even the worst AAA teams would compete just fine at AA... go watch a AA game). But, I am not sure open borders is going to remove AAA teams. The weaker teams will just get weaker and essentially be AA teams competing at AAA - like how you think it is now, but 10x worse.

I understand that it's tough to see kids leave their area for greener pastures or for a local kid to be cut but the point of AAA and any competitive sport is to have the best kids - not just the best kids that are within a boundary. Also, it might force organizations to be better - to be more appealing to players. Make them want to come to you.

Less teams= agree
No Boundaries = agree

If someone wants to drive 2 hrs to practice fill your boots
Take a step back in time and learn the history of how Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs came to be. A dedicated group of parents came together to provide a team for highly talents Bantam players that could not play outside of their OMHA centres
It was 1 team. They worked hard to make it a reality.. nearly lost it all due to "circumstances" and eventually EMHA became a full association with 1 team at each age level on the AAA Alliance. EMC exists for the development of Elgin-Middlesex players. If you don' like it, leave. Go to the G and see how great it is
Good luck
This statement is the funniest thing i've heard out here. EVER! "EMC exists for the development of Elgin-Middlesex players".

The ones that fit into the controlling age groups that allow it. Let's be honest.

Borders are a communist mentality. You all freak the eff out when medical professionals recommend you to get a shot yet you let a bunch of old white fat dudes from richmond hill/stratford/ cambridge etc tell you where you can play. You think minor hockey has freedom? Lol you are all puppets to the man and his $. Wake up. Prep academies are growing for a reason.

The real reason most are afraid of open borders and change is it increases the competition. Holds people accountable and increases the likelyhood of people losing control. Imagine if your little superstar had to make it on his own. Not because of being buddies with the coaches kid. Revolving dads taking turns coaching to ensure no change. Parents taking board positions to have bias and intent. Coaches taking teams and players who are loyal to their training companies.

It's fear tand money that dictates borders. Wake up.

You can still do that. You just choose not to, and think that your freedom are I Fri he’s upon because you want to stay in the area.

There are non hockey Canada affiliated teams and you can always spend your money on the G, OMHA or to another team you’d like. You don’t need to open borders in alliance for you to do that and spend your money where you want. You have freedoms in Canada that you are wanting to enact (freedoms of movement ). Then move.

Besides what does this have to do with EMC and it being a joke?

The organizations are run by volunteers from the community they are in. Aaa is not a corporate franchise that dispatches management teams where they want a team on their dime. Local aaa orgs are started and run by the community they are in. Why the eff would a community form and volunteer to run an organization at their own great expense and time commitment for other peoples kids???
The open border people are ALWAYS the parent problems.
Coaching corruption is far more prevalent in open border systems. You are pushing your agenda because you want control you dont have and dont deserve- all open border advocates do.

This is 100% correct.
If you want to broaden your player's horizons, there are no limits. Go try your luck with your money and see how bad "no borders" really is. EMC volunteers have worked hard for year to provide a level of hockey that local associations can't. There is no AA or A EMC.

Ok puppet. Lol parents volunteer to either keep their kid relevant or have control. Nothing more. They are just to stupid to realize all the money you all funnel up to alliance. Omha. Ohf. Hc. Look it up.

Pls tell me how freedom of choice re open borders is having control? When closed borders limits choice. Why even have F1's then? If youre so sold on borders then why allow F1's? Which is just hoop jumping bs. You're afraid is why. Afraid of choices.
