Guest wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2024 7:38 am NYR had some really talented kids. If these kids stay and add 2 good D they should be a top team.
nyr top kids leaving. AK is great, but nyr just cant offer the big stage for these talented kids. they have to do what is best for their kid.
Not Sure what " The big stage means" but NYR has successful age groups like U12 and U16. The team just started off badly in their first years.
But since AK came in as coach, they have been moving up year after year, and they have no " Tyke Superstars." This team will continue to get better each year, in my opinion, off of the actual development of players.
cant argue with your assessment of ak's work. he has done a great job. unfortunately the top kids will continue to leave for better opportunities which is a barrier for nyr to ever be a serious contender in this age group. once a mid tier organization gets off on the wrong foot in minor atom, it's almost impossible to rebuild into a top team. jrc, tm, vk have a huge advantage because of the jersey chasers of more reputable orgs.
You aren’t wrong. Parents are blinded by the jersey and do not realize for the most part as soon as some comes along that’s a little better their kid will get bounced and they will have developed zero over the years.

TM and JRC are prime examples of this. How many kids are actually developing? Maybe 1-2 per team and then out with the old in with the new

AK is a joke of a coach, would not want my teenager to be guided by that disaster of a human.

Top AA team on ontario would rank 48th (of 54) on the AAA list. They would be very close to TT

But they haven’t played any AAA teams so how can you know that? You can’t compare a motorcycle to a hot wheel.

Look at the results. He’s turned it around. Your personal feelings aside you can’t argue with his success so far.

Also for the top kids advisors will steer them towards the best coaching, not the nicest jersey. The jersey becomes irrelevant. Hence why challenger left TM and joined NYR for his U16 year.

What success are you referring to AK? your own kid is atrocious and will be playing AA after next season.

Are the results any more than taking on 4 or 5 players from TRW after they imploded over their coaching issues?

Was their and extraordinary development.....there may have been a bit but certainly not that much. Recruiting and development are completely different. One could argue the best development actually happened at the Rebels.
