It’s the GTHL and this is normal to see parents act this way. Happens on other teams and we all know who they are. Let’s stop pretendingGuest wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 10:35 pmNo or knowGuest wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 7:09 pmBrutal is an understatement. Single A at best

2. JRC and JT don’t care about kids and only WINNING, I heard from another parent in the 2006 age group that he took over a team in U16 and cut 11 players including three after tryouts, he did have a winning season but shows his character. DD is not a coach and there’s a reason JRC found someone else, need I mention 08?
3. TM RP is experienced and also comes up short most years, political and has favourites, not sure about coaching ability but can def recruit. Team will play a trap and most likely won’t win anything in this age group.
Only one team wins every year. More losers then winners 11 coaches failed this year whats your point.
Re: 2010 GTHL AAA
Ego Maniac? you have to look at your kids success as a player and not the teams. JRC had great players that got them to where they are but 57 and 34 did not do much at all from the countless games I saw this year. Both were much better off last year imoGuest wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 3:58 pmlol 57 and 34 played on a team that was much more successful so I imagine their year has been great unless you are an egoGuest wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 3:43 pm
Because they chase the Jersey instead of the program. Not just the reps.
Ask 57 on JRC how his development went this year.
Ask 18 and 8 on TM how their year went.
Just like 34 on JRC who left DMF, no where to be seen.
Go to the Hill and ask 6 and 88. They’re embarrassed for making that decision. Free ride but with free came a cost.
Soooo many more next year to will regret their decisions, grass aint always greener.
Maniac and only worried about your own production. Both were valued and played accordingly from what I saw in MS vs JRC
But hey if if your chasing medals instead of development in minor hockey you want go very far beyond that.

You’re still singling out kids but sure aside from that you’re not wrong.
A lot of these parents in the league never played past minor hockey or hockey at all so they dont know. All they can do is look at the standings and assume the best place for their kid to “make it” is at the top. They are also sold the fake dream by the “crest” organizations.
I will chime in that often times success in minor hockey does not lead to success past it but thats for us to know and for them to figure out. You wont change their mind otherwise.

The only consistent thing with those who have never been there before is that they will never know. The #3 pick in the 2021 ohl draft went in the 5th round of the nhl draft two years later(do the research). Todays spot means diddly squat in the future. Stop drinking the coolaid the gthl is feeding you about how valuable these roster spots are. Take a pill, Its a scam. Development is key.

This is exactly why no top player wants to play for the MarliesGuest wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 10:53 pmIt’s the GTHL and this is normal to see parents act this way. Happens on other teams and we all know who they are. Let’s stop pretending

Development is key like above poster says. Very FEW coaches can deliver that. It’s embarrassing some of these programs and coaches the way they act and teach.
