The only consistent thing with those who have never been there before is that they will never know. The #3 pick in the 2021 ohl draft went in the 5th round of the nhl draft two years later(do the research). Todays spot means diddly squat in the future. Stop drinking the coolaid the gthl is feeding you about how valuable these roster spots are. Take a pill, Its a scam. Development is key.

No development in the G. Too many back room deals and movement. No coach wants to develop a kid who’s bat shit crazy parents will move him next year for 30 seconds more of ice time. MM is the only team that plays a team game and this is why they keep pummelling the rest of the league.

The respect they have for their players it’s incredible. But you can leave your blinders on and pretend what you see is not happening, but trust me it’s clear and everyone can see and hear it. Teaching the fundamentals of the game
Conducting yourself like a professional
Understand each player and what they bring.
Being a confident leader and role model
Prepping player for each game (game plan)
Knowing how to run video
Running a practice with value.
Allowing creativity inside a system
Understanding your teams identity.

Ego Maniac? you have to look at your kids success as a player and not the teams. JRC had great players that got them to where they are but 57 and 34 did not do much at all from the countless games I saw this year. Both were much better off last year imo
But hey if if your chasing medals instead of development in minor hockey you want go very far beyond that.
You’re still singling out kids but sure aside from that you’re not wrong.
A lot of these parents in the league never played past minor hockey or hockey at all so they dont know. All they can do is look at the standings and assume the best place for their kid to “make it” is at the top. They are also sold the fake dream by the “crest” organizations.
I will chime in that often times success in minor hockey does not lead to success past it but thats for us to know and for them to figure out. You wont change their mind otherwise.
