Do people just think 6’3” means they are getting drafted? There is a lot more to it

There is no expectation for these kids to be fully baked. Cale Makar was 5’6” in his WHL draft. Not sure size tells you much at this age. Only about a third of those drafted will play a meaningful number of games in the league and more than half of those don’t play in their first year. These teams aren’t in a rush for first year players so they make bets on potential. A lot of picks likely don’t make sense because scouts aren’t looking at the same things parents are.
