Guest wrote: Fri Apr 12, 2024 1:12 pm If that is the case why are teams loading up on bigger kids over skill and speed?
Because they are stupid and dumb dumbs. Here's an easy one for you. Who gets paid the most in hockey? Is it defensive players, big players, positionally sound players, body checkers, fighters or the talented most skilled offensive players? Now ask yourself why do you think that is? To win you need to score goals without it everything doesn't matter you're a loser and can't win. It fuels the team and winning the game is the objective any coach that doesn't view it like that RUN fast. Skill all day long. Why do you think coaches give those players letters on their jerseys and play the crap out of them because if they don't they leave and it's hard to replace. You think PS wants to lose CM? Now go down the list of teams they always cater to the top end talent unless they're stupid.
PS just cares about winning and puts the kids that will give him the best chance of winning. That is all it comes down to.
And PS reasons are exactly my point above. WINNING. CM is on the ice 70% of game and has a letter. why is that?
Because he's the best player in the league?
NYR doesn't have a full team right now, everyone double shifts.
I know math is not your strong point but 70% is higher than 50% and being double shifted. Time on the ice.
They reward him with lots of ice and a letter and he's happy and stays put. It's not rocket science it makes sense. That's what you do when you have kids you want to keep that are talented. If you don't they will look elsewhere and other teams will offer them better situations. duh!

Well, because size is a lot easier to find than speed and skill. That's not controversial
Clearly you bone heads aren’t following tonight’s draft. Most kids selected are over 6ft. No smurfs allowed.

He is not wrong… 9 I counted. I think the big dad’s with kids that are slugs should be worried. Nothing is more insufferable than a big kids dad who is horrible, thinking he should play in front of a smaller d that is way better. Yelling “we gotta go with size here!” From the stands. Luckily my kid has both!

Smurf’s at 12 don’t regularly make it to 6 feet.
