2008 ETA
Re: 2008 ETA
Definitely some names on that list that made me scratch my head. And at least a dozen left of the boards. Doesn't make sense.

Re: 2008 ETA
And a handful of the top G kids drafted are former OMHA kids as always. There was a time that I thought having your kid playing in the G vs a bad league like the SCTA was worth it but I don’t get it anymore. BW66 is a Guelph kid. Seeing EB61 go 1st overall you’re telling me BW couldn’t have still gone 4th overall playing on his hometown team?Guest wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 7:34 amTwo years in a row now that the OMHA out drafts the G and also has the 1st overall pick.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 9:37 pmNYR 15Guest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 5:04 pm What was the final count of kids drafted per team?

Re: 2008 ETA
This would have continued if open borders was still allowed in the OMHA. But now that they have locked it back up again, G will regain its dominance. There was a case being made for kids to stay the last few years. eg. PP makesGuest wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 10:39 amAnd a handful of the top G kids drafted are former OMHA kids as always. It to OHL cup semis two years in a row. Barrie, Oakville had strong runs this year. Last year YSE and Halton and a few others were very strong. Only as an example, you’ll never see PP back at this level now that they don’t have open. Barrie and YSE on ETA side and Halton, Oakville on the SCTA side should be able to maintain, but anyone else will be left in the dust. IMO.

Kind of a mute point seeing as how 15 of the Barrie 08's all got drafted.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 10:56 amThis would have continued if open borders was still allowed in the OMHA. BC and PP in the last two years have benefitted from no open boarders. Sort of supports my point. It’s not a moot point. It’s the truth. No ETA team will have the same type of chance to compete as the OMHA teams have in the last two years when the grandfathered teams (09) are through. The ‘10 group will be the first since closing the borders. Say the OMHA is a joke all you want. It was exactly
What the G is. But from here on in, it will get smashed by the G as they will continue on with their way and the OMHA is back the the old way of fair play and closed borders. Careful what you wish for.
