Applewood is a pure house league level, maybe 1-2 kids could realistically pretend to play in A, LP- only slightly better, Erindale and West Mall were mediocre at best, with few bright kids, HD- were more or less, PC's coach was the only asset of that team. Where are they going to find kids to fill 7 teams, who are capable of playing competitive hockey?

no hate, thats the truth.
almost 50+ losses in 2 seasons against mediocre teams.
was hard to watch.
barely scored a goal a game and gave up close to 10 per game.

It's weird that Applewood parents are ambitious enough to try to squeeze their kids in AA, but are super lazy to do anything to improve their kids skating. What's the fun of playing in AA or even in MHL when your kids individually and as a team are much worse than the rest of the league and all because you didn't want to invest a penny into their development? Losing to everybody is a bad lesson for kids. Any Applewood parents here? What's your motivation to go to AA?

you're too pessimistic, have you seen the movie The Mighty Ducks? Did you see how much they improved in a short period of time?

Agree with the above post; if you think the last 2 years were bad, good luck next year

Lots of chicken little’s here about one team when this loop is so diluted that there will be half a dozen embarrassments at least.

North Toronto will be good, some of the kids that were assumed headed to AAA aren’t leaving either because they couldn’t get on teams or their parents didn’t want them to be bottom feeders. EE will be good. Leaside was bad this year lost a bunch to KLEVR and top team was weak, slim pickings there wherever they go. FH even worse. Markham super weak feeder and Kookoo parents who like to coach/scream from the rafters with overinflated view of their kids. Aeros skates were GRIM. West Hill might eek into top 5 in a weak East if they can keep most of core together, they did decent word of mouth recruiting so might have solid game plan.

West is gonna be like a box of chocolates you never know what you’re gonna get. ST very messy and lost 5 or so kids recently, coach not good salesman making people nervous, will underperform. Beast had some leftovers from PC or LP mediocre skates but worse even was no hustle to recruit anyone?? NS took the FEW better Applewood kids and got a couple of KLEVR plus mish mash from somewhere else, with good coach they’ll not be great but not bottom. Jets took somebody’s bottom half, either Applewood or another team, doesn’t matter they should be in A loop if they even have a full roster, HV sucked this year, still looking for kids plus bad goalies, Toros no better quality but more intense coaches/parents probably will have kids improve by fall, the team that will be Eagles went downhill during season not a great sign when kids aren’t developing in sync with teams in tier, don’t know about Duffield but they’ve been bled dry to AAA.

Any predictions for the upcoming season?

My bet for West:

Tier-1 teams:
VP- top coach, good kids and few AAA cuts
WML- probably the strongest coach after Panters
MB- Good organization, ambitious coach, attracted some kids from HD and ES
ST- Merger of 2 decent teams. HD coaches are not the strongest, but very dedicated and they can deliver solid results.

Tier-2:
HVS
Toros- same as Eagles
VR- Were not very strong in NYHL
Eagles- good team without very strong players or coaching

Tier-3
Terriers- Mississauga doesn't have an abundance of kids that want to play hockey

Tier-4

DD- Chico is a stable pro, give him kids of any level and he will end up in the bottom of any league
MNS- good enthusiastic coach, above average goalkeeper, but it won't help because the rest of the team is not anyway near AA
MJ- Also a very good coach, but many kids played in houseleage last year and this year they missed development in Applewood

East
Probably will be dominated by NTH, EE, NYK and SIR, the rest will be far behind

Eagles way better than Toros who also lost goalie.

HVS blown out by eagles core 15-0 you’re crazy if you think they’ll be any good let alone same tier as toros eagles.

WML was a hair better than Applewood and you have them in top tier

Most of the rest ok, weirdly the bottom has way better coaching than the top.
