Re: 2008 ETA
Where ever you will develop. A mid to low team in OJ is a great spot to cut your teeth against the bigger kids. If you can find a situation where they will play, it’s worth it. My son went that way and never looked back. But….and this is a big but, it’s not for everyone. The second you leave minor hockey you are a number and nothing else. You earn everything you get and you don’t have mommy and daddy to do your talking. Your little pumpkin has to fend for themselves!Guest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2024 4:23 pmWhere ever they are going to play the most and develop! If it is a good u18 program it may be better than not as much ice in OJHL. Both good options, also remember you can AP up to ten games ( maybe more then you will actually play on team being 16)Guest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2024 3:55 pm Whats the best bet for player drafted after the 4th round? OJHL or U18?

This is true, ask your agent . We have been toldGuest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2024 7:15 pmLmaoGuest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2024 5:10 pmMore than likely U 18. OJ teams rarely play their 16 year olds.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2024 4:23 pmWhere ever they are going to play the most and develop! Find a good u 18 program, there’s maybe 10-12
Elite ones in the province so do your homework.
The 2nd round kid from OG was told he’s playing U 18 in Barrie so clearly they see value in it
U18 as well as long as it’s a great program and homework has been done.
Re: 2008 ETA
Anyone else with players already drafted getting invites to attend the USHL combine? We got an email a long time ago and now I guess players dropped out and have spots to fill. I mean obviously if drafted we wouldn’t want to drop down to a ushl team, but may be a fun experience, anyone thinking of going just for the games and some good hockey? I’m hearing a lot of wel kids not drafted paying for spots though and I don’t want to waste my money to play with them. Thoughts anyone going to go?
Re: 2008 ETA
Parents/kids will start caring soon when they realize U 18 is where they’re playing. Draft served some humility and when ohl teams finish development camp and ask player where they’re playing this year they’ll soon realize they aren’t making the ohl.
NS landed top goalie in ETA as well as the top
Forward. Spots filling everywhere in league so better get on the phone

Any spots available on NS? I heard the skates don’t look so great with little talent. What is APR doing, any skates planned?Guest wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2024 9:08 amNames please …lmaoGuest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 6:04 pmParents/kids will start caring soon when they realize U 18 is where they’re playing. Re: 2008 ETA
Only an idiot wouldn’t know going into development camp that they may not play OHL next season. If you’re not top two picks… no guarantee at all. But OHL teams don’t ask you where you’re playing… they set you up with a spot in Jr A/ Jr B or U18. Parents who think they have a commitment at U18 better be prepared to scramble as the development camps end and kids get placed in spots they thought were theirsGuest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 6:04 pmParents/kids will start caring soon when they realize U 18 is where they’re playing.
