Parents/kids will start caring soon when they realize U 18 is where they’re playing. Draft served some humility and when ohl teams finish development camp and ask player where they’re playing this year they’ll soon realize they aren’t making the ohl.

NS landed top goalie in ETA as well as the top
Forward. Spots filling everywhere in league so better get on the phone
Only an idiot wouldn’t know going into development camp that they may not play OHL next season. If you’re not top two picks… no guarantee at all. But OHL teams don’t ask you where you’re playing… they set you up with a spot in Jr A/ Jr B or U18. Parents who think they have a commitment at U18 better be prepared to scramble as the development camps end and kids get placed in spots they thought were theirs
Yep will happen with every team so you need a backup plan for sure. Can’t wait to watch the boys who thought they were safe with APR get squeezed out. Happened to boys last year that thought they were set to play on that team.
Only top players will be with APR as most teams want the picks to develop with MB
Yes! And most teams have had this discussion with Mike and players. Anyone good already knows they are safe and this information is accurate

Unless you’re Peterborough, flint, Barrie, Kingston or London.

All have U 18 affiliates. Unfortunately for the prospects heading to APR, none of their ohl teams care about them, especially not from 5th round on.

Unless you are too 4 round pick, not many OHL teams will be setting you up. You need to have your own plan and only adjust it IF the OHL team has a plan for you. In most cases involving a pick after the 4th round, they don’t care or do any work for you. Remember, only 2 16yr old cards per Jr. team below the OHL. So not many spots available. And that’s if a Jr team even wants a 16yr old in their team.
OHL teams only tell their signed players where to go. After that it’s teams trying to help their buddies out at various levels.

What makes no sense is I know a kid drafted in the 14th round but can't even make a AAA U18 team next year. Does that make any sense? How are they going to develop their career?

We are above 5th round but I disagree with this as I was told to switch to this team with another late rounder by the OHL team ! So speak for yourself. He is highly respected and will be seen lots if we go here we may have to commute but that’s ok

How is that possible, I know some in 15th round that have at least 8-10 offers
Maybe they don’t like his character

Great kid, just hard to get offers. Trying to go Div 1 but just hard to get any commitment now.

Ya right APR coaches only care about $$$. Don’t believe what you hear about MB. There are better coaches out there in U18.
