If you can find a big agrressive D that's not scared and has a hard shot and decent skater lock him in NOW.
Sensational will have the biggest D and the biggest team in general. Those kids already hit and will do so even more in U13.

Re: 2012 GTHL AAA
I look forward to all the big slow D that can't pivot and look stupid taking penalties ruining their team chances every game and giving the opposition power plays so my boy can go out and snipe a beauty. IF any of you morons have older kids playing you know exactly what I am talking about. Parent groups love to watch that dumb stuff and ruin chemistry and cause teams to break up every year. You will all see. Neewbies.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 1:58 pmBig D is not so important this year but will be all the talk for U14. The truth is, if your kid can't skate he has 0Guest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 7:46 amI look forward to all the big slow D that can't pivot and look stupid taking penalties ruining their team chances every game and giving the opposition power plays so my boy can go out and snipe a beauty. chance of going anywhere. If he is a 6"7 monster with out skill there is a small chance he can be be a punching bag for a couple of years and then the CTE kicks in.
Re: 2012 GTHL AAA
Let’s not discount good size but if you can’t skate (speed , pivoting) now chances are it’s too late to fix that.
Re: 2012 GTHL AAA
So what we are all saying is the above average skating defenceman with above average size will probably end up going further than the great skating defenceman with below average size.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 8:40 am Let’s not discount good size but if you can’t skate (speed , pivoting) now chances are it’s too late to fix that.
Re: 2012 GTHL AAA
Thats what you are saying above average dad. if your kid is like you , above average, he will likely play above average hockey. Maybe a cup of Tea in the OPJHL. You need to be EXCEPTIONAL to have a chance of going to OHL/NCAA. You need to be a top 2-5 percent player your age. If your son does not have over a point per game in minor midget, he will not be a top pick. That is the truth. Points matter more than size. If you have a combo of 6"5 and lots of points, you are set. If you have a forward that is 6"1 and has 5 goals 8 assists all in 36 games you have almost 0 chance of going on to the next level, unless you are a fighter/ defensive star.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 9:08 amSo what we are all saying is the above average skating defenceman with above average size will probably end up going further than the great skating defenceman with below average size.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 8:40 am Let’s not discount good size but if you can’t skate (speed , pivoting) now chances are it’s too late to fix that.

Go talk to guys who just got drafted. Some of the best skating dmen( asian) got drafted late because of their size. They are incredible skaters and have been on top teams since the brick days. They can skate and score but guess what SIZE MATTERS, HITS MATTER, IQ MATTERS.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 9:31 amThats what you are saying above average dad. if your kid is like you , above average, he will likely play above average hockey. Re: 2012 GTHL AAA
... lets be honest, you more than likely know nothing about that age group, who was good, who was not good, who was a star when they were young etc. what is clear is that you are expecting your son to be BIG like dad and are praying that scouts will over look his lack of talent. Money says your kid had less than 20 pts all season and you are the WAIT TILL U14 my kid will be a STAR!!!!Guest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 11:45 amGo talk to guys who just got drafted. Re: 2012 GTHL AAA
Your presumptions and assumptions are just laughable. none of you will be watching your kid play OHL or higher. Go drink your beer and smoke your dubes you bunch of losers.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 12:07 pm... lets be honest, you more than likely know nothing about that age group, who was good, who was not good, who was a star when they were young etc. what is clear is that you are expecting your son to be BIG like dad and are praying that scouts will over look his lack of talent.
