Coaches release
Coaches release
Recently we had our non parent coach released from the head coaches position, due to poor team performance in the pre season during placement games . I didn’t play hockey or grow up around it so this is all new to me being apart of this , wondering if this is a normal thing in U15 rep hockey or something that maybe new
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Coaches release
Nope kind of unheard of unless some serious concerns. Sounds like a poorly run association.Idighockey wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 12:52 am Recently we had our non parent coach released from the head coaches position, due to poor team performance in the pre season during placement games . Re: Coaches release
I would assume there would be more than that going on in the background, maybe issues in prior year….because that’s going to mess up the kids too which is what you’d really want to avoid

Sounds like a better option came along. There is no loyalty in hockey. Remember that.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 6:28 am I would assume there would be more than that going on in the background, maybe issues in prior year….because that’s going to mess up the kids too which is what you’d really want to avoid

Re: Coaches release
Orgs don't fire a coach midseason because of a loosing slump. And it's rare for a coach to walk away mid season, particularly if they want to continue coaching. Things like this are almost always due to parent discourse, and coaches will ride it out and make parent cuts the following season. But in some cases, cancerous parents are able to drum up enough turmoil and gain support from the bleachers, that the org will let the coach go. In other words, the coach won't tap out...but he's happy to walk away when the org says its time.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 2:47 pmWhat organization are we talking about here?Guest wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 4:42 amSounds like a better option came along.
