They show nothing when it comes to the regular season, so enjoy the summer and let the kids enjoy the couple years of Minor Hockey they all have left. You would think that by U17A the parents would have given up on the dream, apparently not.
Remember, there are different dreams for different players .. some AAA want to go to NHL, some rep players want to improve to play College or University Hockey, US School etc.
US Schools, thinking scholarship?
These Avs players ain't even making the George Brown college team.

A kid playing U17A Non Contact is not looking at University Scholarships (and they aren't looking at that player) , that's just a reality. Bottom end AAA and high end AA players are looking at that route. Bottom end AA don't even have a shot at the US Scholarships especially when you look at how competitive the US Programs are now. Way too many US Kids taking those spots now. Just enjoy watching your kid play Minor Hockey for another couple years.

the question is, is it enjoyable to watch them lose every game and pay the most of any A team to do so, or for them to not play?

I guess playing, regardless of wins and losses and cost is better than not playing, so let the boys play and chill out.

DK you midget dickless little Greek Not Allowed. Focus on your sad life and don’t worry about A level hockey. Trashing a child as you seem to be a parent is disgusting. Maybe you should look back a remember why you became a coach you piece of shit. Your small man syndrome gives that sense of superiority to bully kids. Sad sack of shit. Same goes for all you Vaughan rangers trash parents great example. Fat hairy ugly ass parents who need a major shave and that’s for the women, you are all full shit talking trash behind each others backs. Toxic cancerous mess. Wake up jpeople. Hockey is an Amazing sport, love to watch regardless of level. Enjoy it. While it lasts. I’m sure your spouse will be banging someone else once your kids leaves. focus on your pathetic lives. Garbage all around

Some kids play for enjoyment or even play other sports at a high level so they want to keep hockey as a smaller commitment. There are no single A players being drafted anywhere so those parents who may have A players on better teams, enjoy your kid playing while you can. At the end of the day, playing sports keeps our kids out of trouble and gives them valuable life skills. Very sad to see grown ass adults making fun of dedicated 15/16 year old's who choose to play a sport they love. Please go get a life of your own and stop making fun of kids. Remember, no matter how much better your kid is than an Avs kid...they are still only single A too so please get over yourself.

Anyone playing U17A is not looking to take their game to the next level, last I checked there isnt anybody in this league scoring 100 goals and dazzling the scouts playing non contact hockey. If the dream is to take hockey to the next level then there are a number of AA Teams looking to fill spots, but as someone above said the bottom end of AA can be swapped out for the tope end of A players and a team wouldnt miss a beat. And for those that have issues with KIDS playing a game at whatever level they can make, at least have the guts to put your name to a post rather than calling out 16-17 year old kids. Because that is the definition of gutless.

I’m happy my kid plays A level hockey still, it gives him the exercise and friendships many kids are lacking these days. I wouldn’t say anything negative about kids still playing hockey.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m not sure why a kids worth should be determined by how many As are on his jacket??
