Is it better to join Klevr at U7 or is it better to focus on doing clinics and wait till U8?
Playing so many games and tournaments are more beneficial than practices at this age?
Depends on your kid.
I’ve seen some that can’t handle that load, or they can handle it but the extra time doesn’t really improve them. They need to develop mentally first.
On the other hand, I see some standout kids just explode in development from all the extra stuff that Klevr offers.

GTHL and Hockey Canada are putting a new rule in place. Any kid that plays in Klevr league will not be allowed to play on a GTHL team. AAA or AA. Best to stay with NYHL learn small area games and do skill development.

Absolutely a lie.
Make sure you check and see how many AAA GTHL teams are working closely with the KSL. Do your HW before you believe a parent whose kid didn’t make the K

Could you elaborate what you mean by “develop mentally first”?
What is the typical klevr u7 schedule? 3x practice, 1x game a week and monthly tournaments?

Some 6 year olds are just not there yet. They can’t get the drills right no matter how many hours you make them do it. If you don’t know how your kid will do, you can just sign them up and if they’re not happy after the first season just call it quits.
Schedule I had was 3 practices, where 1 could be an exhibition game. Tournaments monthly. The first few tournaments were tough and my kid had no more legs to skate in the later games.

Klevr is better. It's mostly practice/development.
3 ice times a week and one tourney a month is our schedule.
Be honest with yourself about your kids abilities.
If you're gunning for AAA he or she should be in KSL playing with the best kids in their age group.
If your kid is likely a AA or A player long term than local leagues are fine.
Future A and AA kids should not be playing full ice at U7
Sounds like bull crap to me. Someone from Klevr making up a story to try and generate interest. It’s no secret the skates so far have all been duds
100%. It will be LF/Raiders vs a bunch of filler teams. They need bodies. Top kids are staying NYHL or CDS.
Skates have been packed at most KLEVR teams. Above poster was correct in their assessment. Better development and better structure/ coaching. You’ll pay roughly 3 grand for NYHL garbage driving to downsview on a Thursday at 6pm in the winter. Lol.
You can get on a good KLEVR team for 3500 +
Some are better than others.
I’m personally not a fan of NSH but go where you feel best. Definitely better than Alliance.
What is the deal with NSH? Great facility but they seem disorganized. They aren't having a 2017 ksl team anymore and the 2016 looks to be in jeopardy too. You'd think since they cover such a large/ good hockey area that they could put together a good team.
There is a team south of there with much better development and pedigree. Hamilton HC. Former Shmuchkin grad & NHL skating coach. One of the best skating coaches you’ll ever find and old school. Most of the talent from the area is going there.
Can confirm the “former shmuchkin grad” is a crook. His development is an embarrassment to Klevr. 30+ kids on the ice for development skates with one instructor. Telling 6 yr olds to get their heads out of their asses. It’s a shame Rick Ferroni doesn’t give a shit about the kids now that he’s taken nearly $6k per kid. Would strongly avoid the Ironmen program. Wouldn’t be surprised to see klevr strip the franchise from him as there is much better development instructors out of gateway. Would be nice to see someone like Innovate or Kelly Reid take the program on.

Bunch of new Klevr teams popping up - among them; Ottawa Wolves, Kawartha Panthers, North Bay Platoon, and a few others
