The single A centres are merging with each other and are becoming AA centres.

This has eliminated pretty much all of the single A centres in the GTA which basically makes the AA NRP rule irrelevant.

There are no single A centres left for AA teams to draw from.
And some BB's are going to A, some BB's are merging with C , D to become A, some C and D merging to go BB. This is really crazy. Newly minted A centres are going to get killed by existing A centres, maybe moving up A to AA helps them, but the whole reason is to stop NRP's is my guess. or slow them down.

It is a complete joke with these mergers. If a new centre is created that is fine, build from the ground up. Quit forcing kids back that have been out for 2 years or more. They have this in their own policy.
OHF and OMHA are both run like a small town fruit marke. They say they are about the kids but they are not. It is under the table promises made that they legally can't support.
Time for a big shake up within Hockey Canada's members as well.

This is untrue.

Their are A centers (Hesepler) and their are A centers that closed not because of the OMHA but enrollment inssues at higher ages (Dundas). So while Im sure there were some mergers that's not the case in all situations.

They are removing NRP's starting at the younger age groups and then moving up.

For you AAA parents NRP's are different in A and AA then the equivalent in AAA. An AA center is allowed to take 3 NRP's, so in essence, if you're kid is the fourth best on an A team, yet still AA level, you will not make AA.

It's UNTRUE at all, it maybe didn't your point about Hespler which is likely a one off. There is a provincial wide shift at OMHA that much is clear. Saying is is untrue is stating it's all false. Not like this board should be your guide anyways.

OMHA should prove flexibility to kids forced to return to their home centres. In the LOR, the kid has to report to his home centre first. If he doesn't make the AA team at home, he is released and can go to other neighboring centres that want them. Outside in the inner GTA (markham, richmond hill), a kid cut from AA can't leave their association and has to report to the A team.

My son's home centre has said no releases, to NRP cards. Of course, they are allowing NRPs to come in - which is hypocritical.

AA and A players are held hostage by OMHA, you're bang on! AAA and LL/HL freedom to move wherever they wish.

It is all about headcount and cash for the OMHA

Fun Fact- there are younger people at a 1923 100 yr high school reunion than on the OMHA board

I think the board is older than the amount of OAK they have in their Richmond Hill offices.

You bring up a good point on board at OMHA. Are they not mandated to have a certain amount of females, under 40 and ethnicity????? Basically a mosaic of society as we are today in Ontario.

Why does it matter what ethnicity or gender a person? Age even? Old, white men can genuinely make up a good board, as long as they are good people.
